Three arrested for consuming liquor at public place
Three cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-26 & PS-49 Chandigarh against three persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 19.02.2020. Later they were released on bail.
Action against Gambling
Chandigarh Police arrested Malkit Singh, Wasim, Bankey Dass and Mohd. Afjal all resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh, while they were gambling, near Community Center, Manimajra, Chandigarh 19.02.2020. Total cash Rs. 13,800/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 28, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
Pawan Kumar R/o # 1326/A, Sector-47, Chandigarh working in Air Force Wing has reported that someone has stole away two Indane gas cylinders and one VIVO mobile phone from his residence after broken the locks on 17.02.2020. A case FIR No. 28, U/S 454, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A lady resident of Sector 40/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s bangles from Entry Gate ISBT, Sector-43, Chandigarh, while she was traveling in local bus on 18.02.2020. Avnish R/o # 521/2, Sector-38, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away bicycle from near his residence. A case FIR No. 62, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating
A case FIR No. 22, U/S 66C, 66D IT Act & 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Oma Kant Tewari R/o # 502, Phase-6, Mohali (PB) reported that unknown person called on complainant mobile phone posed as he was speaking from State Bank of India, Sector-09, Branch, Chandigarh and he sought certain details of complainant’s ATM card to activate new debit card and fraudulently withdrawal cash Rs.74508/- from complainant’s saving account. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 36, U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Aruna Diwan R/o # 811, Sector 43/A, Chandigarh who reported that she received a call from unknown person who told to update KYC of complainant’s PAYTM wallet. She was asked to add Rs. 1 to PAYTM wallet as soon as she had added Rs.1 to PAYTM wallet the total of amount Rs. 74980/- was withdrawn from her PAYTM account in different transactions. A case FIR No. 24, U/S 420, 120-B IPC 66C, 66D IT Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of Jyoti R/o # 5927, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person called on complainant’s mobile phone and told himself from customer care center Delhi, Noida. Further he asked complainant’s bank details like Aadhar number, ATM card number, OTP etc. Later fraud transactions of Rs. 2,29,000/- were done from complainant’s PNB account. A case FIR No. 29, U/S 379A, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Bhuj Katch, Gujrat, pursuing private Study who reported that unknown person on motorcycle sped away after snatching complainant’s purse containing Aadhar card, pan card, HDFC ATM card, one gold ring and cash Rs. 10,000/- near H.No. 3738, Sector 46, Chandigarh on 19.02.2020. MV Theft
