Medical College must for every District: CM Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the number of MBBS seats in medical colleges of the State has increased from 700 in the year 2014 to 1450 in 2019 and a target has been set to increase it to minimum 2000 seats in the near future.
Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the people at the launching of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in Haryana, at Panchkula near here today.
On this occasion , Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has inaugurated 10 Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in Haryana under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna by pressing the remote button from Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
The Chief Minister said that though the State has adequate health infrastructure but more doctors are needed to meet the demand. He said that at present 13,000 doctors are available in the State as against the requirement of 27,000 doctors. With a view to meet the demand of doctors, the state government has a plan to open one medical college in each district of the State. At present, three Government and 19 private medical colleges are functional in the State, he added.
On this occasion, Mr Manohar Lal thanked Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi for dedicating 10 Ayush Health and Wellness Centres to the people of State and also launching this campaign from Haryana. He said that about 4500 such centres are to be opened in the country this year. He said that aim of the Prime Minister behind opening such centres is to make the people adopt preventive measures so as to keep them away from diseases.
The Chief Minister said that we could prevent our self from diseases through yog, proper eating habits and traditional system of medicine and that too without any side effects. Thanking the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi for getting international recognition to Yog, he said that Haryana Government is setting up Yog and Vyamshalas at village level. Trainers are also being appointed in these Yog and Vyamshalas so as to impart Yog training to the people, which is essential for a good health.
Mr Manohar Lal said that yesterday only Prime Minister has launched Fit India Movement and urged the people remain fit. He said that present State Government has taken various steps for the promotion of AYUSH in the State. Shri Krishna College of AYUSH, Kurukshetra has been upgraded as Shri Krishna AYUSH University. Apart from this, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of National Institute of Ayurveda, Panchkula, being set up at Shri Mata Mansa Devi temple complex. Also, two institutes of Unani Medicine are functional in Mewat.
Among those present on this occasion included Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Mr Ratan Lal Kataria, MLAs namely Mr Gian Chand Gupta and Mrs Latika Sharma, Chief Secretary Mrs Keshni Anand Arora, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Principal Secretary Mr V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Mr Rajeev Arora, Principal Secretary Development and Panchayats Mr Sudhir Rajpal, Director AYUSH Dr Saket Kumar, Director General Information Public Relations and Languages Department Mr Sameer Pal Srow and other senior officers of the State Government and District Administration.
