Akali and BJP workers were not allowed to file their nominations at Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 7, 2018:  On the last day, the Akali and BJP workers were not allowed to file their nominations as a candidate for the Zila Parishad and Panchayat elections to be held on September 2018.

In Ferozepur also, there had been the tense situation at Mamdot and local Ferozepur over restricting the Akali and BJP workers to file the nominations on the last day.  Both these stations were virtually converted into cantonment with the deployment of heavy force as the Akali workers led by Nony Mann, Incharge Akali Dal Guruharsahai had sit on dharna in front of the DC and SSP Office.

Davinder Bajaj, District President BJP said, the BJP workers were not allowed to enter the DC office filing the nominations.  He said we were asked to come from the back gate and enter one by one.  When we entered the office, we saw hundreds of Congress were already there.  None of our workers could file the nominations.

While in Moga district at Dharamkot, there had been an incident of firing over the filing of nomination injuring one Congress worker.  Congress workers have alleged that there was a firing by the Akali workers, in Khanna also the office of BDPO was captured by the Akali leaders over the non-issue of NOCs.
