Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 02 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 02 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 02 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-26= 1 case, PS-39= 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Vishwakarma R/o # 682, Gwala Colony, Village- Maloya, Chandigarh near Gas Agency, Gwala Colony, Village- Maloya, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 15 quarters of country made liquor on 05.11.2018. A case FIR No. 226, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against selling Crackers without permit

A case FIR No. 426, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against Gulshan Abar R/o # 6760, Sector-56, Chandigarh who was selling crackers without any license & permit near Primary School, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. Accused arrested and later bail out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Sh. Koshal Kumar R/o # 377, Village-Kajheri, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 3 pair of silver anklets, 1 silver chain, 1 pair of gold ear rings, Cash Rs.5000/- and some documents after broken the lock of his house on dated 05.11.2018. A case FIR No. 392, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Village-Maulijagran, Chandigarh alleged that her husband and others resident of Distt.-Mohali, PB harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 86, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Village-Burail, Sector-45, Chandigarh, alleged that her husband resident of Distt.-Panchkula, Haryana harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 87, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh alleged that her husband and others resident of Distt.-Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 88, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-37/B, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Dilshad Garden, Delhi harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 89, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Snatching

Sh. Prince Guru R/o Village-Jhampur, Tehsil-Kharar, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab, reported that three unknown pedestrian persons snatched away complainant’s mobile phone near Bus Stand, Village-Maloya, Chandigarh on night intervening 04/05.11.2018. A case FIR No. 225, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Robbery

Sh. Rahul Singh Rajawat R/o 12 Wing, Air Force, Sector-31, Chandigarh reported that three unknown persons occupant of Motor Cycle snatched away complainant’s bag containing educational certificate, uniform and 1 gold mangalsutra near Kali Bari Light Point, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. A case FIR No. 419, U/S 382, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Sitanshu Bhushan Sharma R/o # 1202/A, Sector-47/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa No. CH-01BT-9535 while parked in ground, Sector-46/C, Chandigarh on 02.11.2018. A case FIR No. 392, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Govind Sharma R/o # 2560, Sector-52, Chandigarh, reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Hero Honda Motor Cycle No. PB-65AD-1932 while parked near his house on 02.11.2018. A case FIR No. 391, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Partap Singh R/o # 178, Village-Kajheri, Chandigarh, reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa No. CH-49T-8666 while parked near his house on 04.11.2018. A case FIR No. 394, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 345, U/S 279, 337, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the statement of Ram Baran Yadav R/o # 707, Ward No.1, Kamau Colony, Village-Nayagaon, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab who alleged that driver of Motor Cycle No. CH-01BR-6188 hit to pedestrian person near A.P. Chowk, Sector-7, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. Pedestraian person namely Ashok Kumar R/o # 43, Sector-86, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab got injured and admitted in GH-16 for treatment. Later he refer to PGI, Chandigarh where duty doctor declared him brought dead. Driver of Motor Cycle namely Rahul R/o # 83, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh arrested and later bail out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 393, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the statement of Rajesh Kumar R/o # 1742, Vikas Nagar, Village-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of car No. CH-02AA-1728 hit to pedestrian person near ISBT-43, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. Pedestrian person got injured and admitted in PGI for treatment. Driver of car namely Kalyan Dass R/o # 504, Govind Nagar, Village- Nayagaon, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab arrested and later bail out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 425, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the statement of Joginder R/o # 3111, Sector-25/D, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of truck No. PB-08AQ-8544 hit to active No.CH-01BS-6051 driven by complainant’s wife near sector-25/38, light point Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. The driver of activa namely Reena R/o # 3111, Sector-25/D, Chandigarh got injured and admitted in PGI for treatment. Later she expired at PGI. Investigation of the case is in progress.
