Animal Husbandry & Fisheries participated for the first time in the 13th Agro Tech-2018

Chandigarh, 3^rd December 2018:

Responding to the Government of India initiative for doubling the farmer income, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries participated for the first time in the 13^th Agro Tech-2018, India organised by CII Chandigarh.

The Department of Animal Husbandry in exhibition focused on the activities undertaken by it regarding efficient animal healthcare system and disease control. The extension activities depicting better scientific Animal Husbandry practices were displayed.

On the inaugural day, Sh. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Director Animal Husbandry revealed that the departments’ effort to produce quality fish seed was highlighted for conservation of ecological balance of Sukhna Lake. Large number of farmers from different states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal visited the stall on the first day. Foreign dignitaries from Canadian High Commission, Chandigarh also visited the stall and appreciated the work done by the Department.

Farmers were educated about various animal husbandry activities for economical production of milk, various bio-security measures to prevent diseases.
