Administrator holds meeting with Tri-city Coordination Committee
Chandigarh, 4th September, 2019:
A high level meeting of Tri-city Coordination Committee was held under the Chairmanship of Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh.
Keshni Anand Arora, IAS, Chief Secretary, Haryana, Karan Avtar Singh, IAS, Chief Secretary, Punjab, Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration, Punjab and Haryana were a part of this meeting.
It was decided in the meeting to expedite the proposal for outer-ring road to de-congest Chandigarh. There were suggestions to restrict entry of diesel-operated vehicles including auto-rickshaws into the capital city. DIG, Chandigarh suggested mandatory introduction of QR Code of each vehicle. The Administrator felt the importance of sharing of intelligence and frequent meeting of Traffic Committees. The Administrator also focused on prevention of cyber crime through Police. DGP, Haryana stressed on collective efforts to tackle the problem of human trafficking and cheating by finance companies. He also suggested implementation of Tri-city Nakah-bandi Plan.
Chief Secretary, Haryana focused on concerted efforts in tackling public health issues. All government and private hospitals in the tri-city will be directed to notify detection of contagious diseases, so that its spread could be restricted. Adviser, UT, Sh. Manoj Parida stated that the tri-city should join hands to tackle problems of beggars, stray animals and also to help in the successful implementation of ban on plastic in tri-city.
