7 Day Economics Research Programme concluded at PU

                   A seven day short-term course on “Advanced Techniques in Economics Research” in collaboration with Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Panjab University (P.U.), Chandigarh concluded today in the Department of Economics, PU.

                   Professor S.K. Tomar, Director, Human Resource Development Centre, P.U., Chandigarh accompanied the Chairman of Department of Economics    S.P. Padhi to attend the valedictory address delivered by Prof. Sunil Kumar, Faculty of Economics, South Asian University, New Delhi.

                   24 faculty members from various Universities and Colleges within India and Nepal attended the course. The participants were trained with Advanced Econometric Techniques in the area of Applied Economics Research. The faculty of the Department of Economics along-with the faculty from BITS PILANI as well as  Madras Institute of  Development Studies acted as Resource Persons during the course. Professor S.P. Padhi, Chairperson and Dr. Nitin Arora of the Department of Economics jointly coordinated the course.

21st INDO-US symposium-cum-workshop on Applications of Laser Flow Cytometry in Biomedical Research

                   The Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh is going to organize 21st INDO-US symposium-cum-workshop on Applications of Laser Flow Cytometry in Biomedical Research on 2-5 February, 2020 in collaboration with Trust for Education and Training in Cytometry (TETC) Live Education Task Force, International Society for Advancement of Cytometry (LETF-ISAC).

                   Delegate and speakers from different countries such as USA, UK, France, and others are coming in this workshop to interact with young participants for giving them spark to use this technology for their research projects.

                   Participants from different states of India are attending this workshop. Due to the overwhelming response from the participants the organizers has increase the seats for symposium only. Expert Talk on “SAP ERP and Emerging Industry Trends”

                   Mr. Ashish Verma, Senior SAP Consultant, Cognizant, Bangalore, Karnataka delivered a talk on “SAP ERP and Emerging Industry Trends” at Information Technology, University Institute of Engineering and Technology  (UIET), Panjab University, Chandigarh, here today. The talk began with an introduction to SAP ERP and where it stands in market today. He discussed other ERP players in the market. The main focus of the talk was on SAP’s proprietary database: HANA. The expert emphasized on SAP Leonardo that enables users to leverage future-facing technologies like the Internet of Things, machine learning, blockchain, analytics, and Big Data. SAP technical advancements were also covered. He also talked about the career opportunities in SAP for professionals. The lecture was organized by Dr. Neelam Goel, Assistant Professor under the guidance of Dr. Savita Gupta, Director, UIET.

                     The talk was attended by 161 participants including faculty members, technical staff, research scholars, masters students and undergraduate students.

Akshi Goyal selected for Newton Bhabha PhD Placement Programme 2019-2020

                        Akshi Goyal, Ph.D. Research Scholar from Panjab University under supervision of Dr. Suman Mor, Associate Professor, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University and Dr. Ravindra Khaiwal, Additional Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER has been selected for Newton Bhabha PhD Placement Programme 2019-2020.

            The British Council – India, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India and Indian Higher Education Institutions recently announced the results for Newton Bhabha PhD Placement Programme 2019-2020. The Newton-Bhabha Fund offers an opportunity for UK and Indian PhD scholars to spend a period of their study (up to two to four months) in Indian and UK higher education institutions.

            The supervisor from the host institute i.e. University of Worcester are one of the global experts in the field of aerobiological research. The proposed PhD placement work will allow to find the variability of the urban climate in response to the land cover type. As, increase in temperature, changes in land-cover and shifts in the weather pattern have shown synergistic effect on dispersal and transportation of aeroallergens.

            The proposed placement will scientifically enhance the Ph.D. outcomes as it helps to identify the emission sources of pollens using back trajectory model along with WRF model. Moreover, this will help in building the relationship between emission area and its surroundings with airborne pollens concentration and to predict the dispersion of airborne pollen level in under-monitored areas. Better understanding of spatial variability of urban climate and pollens will help in assessment of pollen dispersion and its exposure level. The current research will allow her to better assess the future risks so that society can prepare better in order to reduce health burden.

            The proposed placement will further enhance the scope of study as it will allow her to scale up the study from regional level to national scale in future. Moreover, under this placement programme, she will develop individual capacity through international training and development opportunities.

राहुल विरोध, एकेडमी ऑफ आर्ट के डायरेक्टर योगेश सोमन को भारी पड़ा, भेजे गए लंबी छुट्टी पर

काँग्रेस के दबाव में काम करना उद्धव ठाकरे की सावरकर व हिन्दू विरोध की राजनीति के आगे नतमस्त्क होना ही दर्शाता है। अब जब भी चुनाव होंगे तो वह अपना कौन सा चेहरा ले कर मैदान में कूदेंगे, प्रखर हिन्दू वादी का या फिर सौम्य छद्म सेकुलर का।

 कभी बीजेपी के साथ सत्ता का सुख भोग रही शिवसेना सरकार में अपने सहयोगी दल कांग्रेस एनसीपी के हाथों कठपुतली बन चुकी है. यही वजह है कि वह ऐसे मामले पर खुलकर विरोध भी नहीं कर पा रही है. ठाकरे सरकार एक तरफ सिटीजनशिप अमेंडमेंट एक्ट के खिलाफ बोलने वालों को अच्छे-अच्छे पद बांट रही है तो वहीं दूसरी तरफ वो अब कांग्रेस एनसीपी के खिलाफ बोलने वालों पर ऐक्शन लेने के मूड में दिखाई दे रही है.

 कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी के बयान की निंदा करना मुंबई यूनिवर्सिटी में एकेडमी ऑफ आर्ट के डायरेक्टर योगेश सोमन को भारी पड़ा. योगेश सोमन ने वीर सावरकर को लेकर दिए राहुल गांधी के एक बयान की निंदा की थी. दरअसल राहुल गांधी ने झारखंड में चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान रेप की बढ़ती घटनाओं को लेकर रेप कैपिटल वाला बयान दिया था जिसके बाद बीजेपी और सहयोगी दलों ने मांग की थी कि राहुल गांधी इस बयान पर माफी मांगें.

माफी की मांग पर जवाब देते हुए राहुल गांधी ने एक कार्यक्रम के दौरान कहा था, ‘मेरा नाम राहुल सावरकर नहीं, राहुल गांधी है. मैं माफी नहीं मांगूंगा.’ सावरकर को लेकर राहुल गांधी के इसी बयान पर तीखी प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त करते हुए योगेश सोमन ने 14 दिसंबर को सोशल मीडिया पर अपना एक वीडियो पोस्ट किया था. इस वीडियो में सोमन ने कहा था कि, ‘आप वास्तव में सावरकर नहीं हैं. सच तो यह है कि तुम सच्चे गांधी भी नहीं हो.’

इस पोस्ट को लेकर कांग्रेस एवं वामदलों से जुड़े छात्र संगठन सोमन की बर्खास्तगी की मांग पर अड़े थे. आखिरकार महाराष्ट्र में उद्धव ठाकरे सरकार के गठन के बाद मुंबई यूनिवर्सिटी के वाइस चांसलर सुहास पेडेनकर ने राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ बयान करने पर योगेश सोमन को जबरन छुट्टी पर भेजने के अलावा इस मामले में एक जांच कमेटी का भी गठन किया. यह जांच कमेटी सोमन पर लगे तमाम आरोपों की जांच करेगी. 

हालांकि इस पूरे विवाद पर योगेश सोमन ने जी मीडिया से अपना पक्ष रखते हुए कहा कि “पहले मैं सारे तथ्य जांच कमेटी के सामने रखूंगा और फिर मीडिया से बात करूंगा.” योगेश सोमन के खिलाफ इस कार्रवाई को बीजेपी ने दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बताया. बीजेपी ने शिवसेना, कांग्रेस, एनसीपी से सवाल किया है कि योगेश सोमन के खिलाफ की गई कार्रवाई असहिष्णुता नहीं तो क्या है? 

लेकिन राज्य सरकार इस कार्रवाई को सही ठहरा रही है. ठाकरे सरकार में कैबिनेट मंत्री नवाब मलिक ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र सरकार मे कार्यरत अधिकारी किसी दल या संगठन के विचार को प्रमोट करेंगे तो सरकार कठोर कार्रवाई करेगी. उसे सरकारी नौकरी छोड़नी पड़ेगी. इस पूरे मामले में सावरकर की विचारधारा में यकीन रखने वाली शिवसेना ने चुप्पी साध रखी है. जाहिर है कि कभी बीजेपी के साथ सत्ता का सुख भोग रही शिवसेना सरकार में अपने सहयोगी दल कांग्रेस एनसीपी के हाथों कठपुतली बन चुकी है. यही वजह है कि वह ऐसे मामले पर खुलकर विरोध भी नहीं कर पा रही है.

Dr. NavneetKaur, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh was awarded with Professor D. V. S. Jain Research Award (2018) which includes a citation and award amount of Rs. 30,000while Dr. NishimaWangoo, Assistant Professor from University Institute of Engineering & Technology, PU was awarded with Smt. PremLata Jain Research Award (2018)which included a citation and award amount of Rs. 15,000.These awards were presented by Smt. PremLata Jain,during the 4th Best Research Award Ceremony, organized by Department of Chemistry, on behalf of Smt. PremLata and Professor D V S Jain Research Foundation,here today.

Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh congratulated the awardees, and exhorted other faculty members and young researchers to carry out meaningful research, not only for wider scientific reach but also for societal impact. PU VC expressed gratitude and appreciation towards the generous contribution ofRs. 50 lakhs endowment fund donated by Prof. Jain’s family.Prof. Raj Kumar believes that such endowment funds will really support and accelerate the university research activities in multifaceted ways. Smt. Jain also bestowed upon the Best Researcher and Best Publication awardees.

The six Best Publication awards for the year 2018, for publication of outstanding research articles with impact factor more than 5.0, were presented to Prof. Parveen Rishi (Microbiology), Dr. NishimaWangoo (Chemsitry), Prof. G. R. Chaudhary (Chemistry), Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma (Chemistry) and Prof. NavneetKaur (Chemistry). The best publication awards included a citation and award amount of Rs. 5,000 for each awardee. The certificates of appreciation for publishing high impact papers in the year 2018 were bestowed upon Dr. SavitaChaudhary (Chemistry), Prof. RajatSandhir (Biochemistry), Prof. Amarjit Singh Naura (Biochemistry), Dr. VijayataChadha (Nuclear Medicine) and Dr. P. Natarajan (Chemsitry).

Earlier, Prof. K. N. Singh, Chairman briefed about the genesis objectives of Smt. PremLata and Professor D V S Jain Research Foundation. This foundation has been created based on the endowment funddonated by Professor D.V.S. Jain. The main objective of this foundation is to promote and nurture scientific research in Panjab University. The foundation has initiated scientific programs such as Best Researcher Awards, Best Publication Awards, Bright-Begin Research Grant, Conceptual Consolidation in Innovative Areas Lecture Series, Fellowships for research scholars and Book fund.

                        The participants remembered and paid homage to Prof. D.V.S. Jain who passed away in October 2019.

दीपिका के जेएनयू जाने पर यूनिवर्सिटी के वीसी एम. जगदीश कुमार ने सवाल उठाए हैं

CAA के नाम पर हों या फीस बढ़ौतरी के नाम पर सभी ने अपनी अपनी रोटियाँ सेंकीं। विपक्ष (वाम दल, काँग्रेस, सपा आदि) ने प्रदर्शन कारियों को न केवल पराश्रय दिया अपितु प्रोत्साहित भी किया और तो और उन्हे प्रोत्साहन राशि देने की बात भी कही।(शर्मनाक) टुकड़े टुकड़े गैंग फिर से प्रकट हुआ और फिर से काश्मीर की आज़ादी के नारे लगे यह सब हुआ विपक्षी दलों के वरदस्त प्राप्ति के पश्चात। JNU में जो कुछ भी हुआ वह न सिर्फ निंदनीय है अपितु माफ करने लायक भी नहीं है। दोषियों को पहचान कर उन्हे त्वरित दंड मिलना चाहिए, और यह भी ध्यान रहे की यह कार्यवाही एक तरफा न हो। जो वां पंथी छात्र हड़ताल पर बैठे हैं उन्हे भी इस बात का एहसास करवाया जाये की उनके कारण पढ़ने वाले छात्रों का नुकसान हो रहा है। वह छात्र इनकी दलगत राजनीति के शिकार क्यों हों। यहाँ एक बात तो तय है की हड़ताल, बंद के पीछे विपक्ष ही है और वह CAA, NRC के मद्दे पर अपनी राजनीती चमकाना चाहते हैं। आज जब वीसी असल में प्रभावित छात्र है उनके लिए गुहार लगाई तो उन्हे पदमुक्त होने की सलाह दे दी गयी।

अभिनेत्री दीपिका पादुकोण के जेएनयू जाने पर यूनिवर्सिटी के वीसी एम. जगदीश कुमार ने सवाल उठाए हैं. JNU वीसी ने सवालिया लहजे में कहा कि प्रदर्शनकारियों के पक्ष में हस्तियां क्यों खड़ी हैं. वीसी ने कहा कि उन हजारों छात्रों और शिक्षकों का क्या जिन्हें उनके अधिकार से वंचित किया गया है? 
 
गौरतलब है कि एक्ट्रेस दीपिका पादुकोण मंगलवार को दिल्ली के जेएनयू कैंपस में वामपंथी छात्रों के प्रदर्शन में शामिल हुईं थी. इस दौरान कन्हैया कुमार और जेएनयू छात्रसंघ की अध्यक्ष आइशी घोष मंच पर मौजूद थीं. दीपिका वहां करीब 10 मिनट तक मौजूद रहीं लेकिन उन्होंने वहां पर छात्रों को संबोधित नहीं किया. हालांकि दीपिका की मौजूदगी में वहां आजादी के जोरदार नारे लगाए गए. लेकिन दीपिका ने प्रदर्शन या JNU से जुड़ी किसी बात पर कोई टिप्पणी नहीं की. वैसे दीपिका की फिल्म छपाक शुक्रवार को रिलीज होने वाली है.  

जेएनयू के वीसी जगदीश कुमार ने अपने एक बयान में कहा, “मैं प्रदर्शनकारियों के पक्ष में खड़ी होने वाली सभी हस्तियों से पूछना चाहता हूं कि उन हजारों शिक्षकों और छात्रों का क्या जिन्हें उनके मूलभूत कार्य मसलन रिसर्च और पठन-पाठन से वंचित किया जा रहा है? आप उनके पक्ष में क्यों खड़े नहीं होते? और हजारों छात्र नए सेमेस्टर के लिए रजिस्ट्रेशन करवा रहे हैं. कुछ ऐसी अफवाहें आ रही हैं कि यूनिवर्सिटी बंद होने वाली है?  जेएनयू और मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय साथ मिलकर काम कर रहे हैं. हम सामान्य शैक्षणिक प्रकिया चाहते हैं. कुछ छात्र हिंसात्मक व्यवहार कर रहे हैं. कोई भी प्रदर्शन शांतिपूर्वक होना चाहिए.” 

उन्होंने आगे कहा, “प्रदर्शनकारी अपना चेहरा क्यों ढंक रहे हैं? हमारे चीफ प्रोक्टर सभी पहलुओं पर जांच कर रहे हैं और वह अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई करेंगे. पुलिस टीम आई थी. हमने हिंसा से संबंधित सभी वीडियो, फोटोज सौंप दिए हैं.” 

वहीं दूसरी ओर राजनीति से प्रेरित चिदम्बरम वीसी जगदीश कुमार को पद से मुक्त होने की सलाह दे रहे हैं।

दिल्ली पुलिस ने जेएनयू वाली घटना में साजिश के एंगल से जांच शुरू कर दी है. सूत्रों के मुताबिक जब पेरियार हॉस्टल में नकाबपोशों का हमला हुआ तो उसके बाद कुछ WhastsApp ग्रुप बने.
जेएनयू में छात्रों पर हुए हमले के पीछे लोगों की पहचान का खुलासा नहीं हुआ है। लेकिन लेफ्ट द्वारा लगातार एबीवीपी हमला बोलना खुद उन्हें सवालों के घेरे में घेर रहा है। लेफ्ट और एबीवीपी उस रात हुए हमले को लेकर एक-दूसरे पर आरोप लगा रहे हैं और इन सबके बीच कुछ whatsapp चैट वायरल हो रहे हैं. इन चैट्स को घटना वाली रात का बताया जा रहा है. इन चैट्स में जेएनयू परिसर में लोगों को बुलाने की बात कही जा रही है. घटना के बाद से ही इन whatsapp चैट्स के स्क्रीनशॉट वायरल हो रहे हैं और उनकी सत्यता की जांच की जा रही है.
जेएनयू में छात्रों पर हुए हमले के पीछे लोगों की पहचान का खुलासा नहीं हुआ है। लेकिन लेफ्ट द्वारा लगातार एबीवीपी हमला बोलना खुद उन्हें सवालों के घेरे में घेर रहा है।

जेएनयू के हॉस्टलों में घुसकर छात्रों के साथ हुई हिंसा निस्संदेह ही शर्मनाक घटना है। लेकिन इस घटना के लिए बिन सोचे समझे केंद्र सरकार या फिर एबीवीपी पर हमलावर हो जाना उतना ही अधिक निंदनीय। रविवार की रात मुँह पर नकाब पहने और हाथ में लाठी लिए परिसर में घुसे कुछ दंगाई कौन थे? कहाँ से आए थे? किस समूह से थे? ये किसी को नहीं मालूम। मगर फिर भी अगर सोशल मीडिया पर देखें तो कुछ ही पल में एक नैरेटिव तैयार किया गया कि ये सब भाजपा के छात्र संघ एबीवीपी का किया धरा है। और तो और ये लोग प्रोपेगेंडा के तहत आनन-फानन में गृहमंत्री से इस्तीफा भी माँगने लगे!

इस पूरे प्रकरण में एबीवीपी के छात्र खुद काफी चोटिल हुए और घटना के ख़िलाफ़ हुए प्रदर्शन में उनकी मौजूदगी भी अन्य समूह जितनी ही रही। लेकिन, फिर भी इसी बीच वामपंथी गिरोह के लोगों द्वारा अपना नैरेटिव सिद्ध करने के लिए, कुछ व्हॉट्सअप चैट वायरल की जाने लगीं और दावा किया गया कि जेएनयू में जो कुछ हुआ, वो सब पहले से निर्धारित था।

उल्लेखनीय है कि इन व्हॉट्सएप स्क्रीनशॉट्स की क्या प्रमाणिकता है, ये किसी को अभी तक नहीं मालूम। मगर, फिर भी जेएनयू की पूर्व अध्यक्ष गीता द्वारा शेयर किए गए स्क्रीनशॉट्स से लेफ्ट का ही पर्दाफाश हो गया… वो कैसे? आइए जानें…

दरअसल, एबीवीपी को बदनाम करने के लिए जिस ग्रुप चैट का स्क्रीनशॉट सोशल मीडिया पर जेएनयू की पूर्व अध्यक्ष गीता द्वारा शेयर किया गया, उसमें कई नंबर साफ नजर आए। ऐसे में जब इन नंबरों की पड़ताल हुई तो एक नंबर उसमें अमन सिन्हा नामक छात्र का निकला।

अमन सिन्हा द्वारा साल 2016 में किए ट्वीट पर उसका नंबर साफ तौर पर लिखा है। जबकि उसका फेसबुक अकॉउंट देखने पर पता चलता है कि अमन सिन्हा, जिसका नंबर लेफ्ट टेरर डाउन नामक ग्रुप में है और जिसे लेकर दावा किया जा रहा है कि वो एबीवीपी का ‘गुंडा’ है। उसका लेना-देना संघ या भाजपा से नहीं, बल्कि कन्हैया कुमार, उमर खालिद जैसे वामपंथियों और कट्टरवादियों से है। जिनके द्वाया आयोजित कार्यक्रमों में अक्सर उसे देखा जाता है।

अमन सिन्हा की वॉल पर, उसके द्वारा शेयर की गई तस्वीरों से साफ पता चलता है कि इस पूरे कारनामे को सुनियोजित ढंग से अंजाम देने के लिए किसने अपनी भूमिका निभाई।

सोशल मीडिया पर खुलासा होते ही, अन्य यूजर भी अमन सिन्हा से जुड़े कई तथ्य निकालकर लेकर आने लगे। लोगों ने पूछा कि क्या ये वही छात्र है, जिसने अफजल गुरु के शहीदी के नारे लगाए और उसके पोस्टर लेकर घूमा था।

गौरतलब है कि अभी तक रविवार को जेएनयू में छात्रों पर हुए हमले के पीछे लोगों की पहचान का खुलासा नहीं हुआ है। लेकिन लेफ्ट द्वारा लगातार एबीवीपी हमला बोलना खुद उन्हें सवालों के घेरे में घेर रहा है। सोशल मीडिया पर एक ओर जहाँ कई लोग इस हिंसा के लिए उचित कार्रवाई की माँग कर रहे हैं। तो वहीं कुछ ऐसे भी हैं जो प्रत्यत्क्ष रूप से लेफ्ट को जिम्मेदार बता रहे हैं और अमन सिन्हा का खुलासा होने के बाद उनसे सवाल भी कर रहे हैं।

नकाब में वायरल हो रही लड़की का नाम शाम्भवी है. शाम्भवी का कहना है कि जेएनयू में जब हिंसा हुई उस वक्त वह वहां मौजूद ही नहीं थी.

जवाहर लाल नेहरू विवि (जेएनयू) परिसर में रविवार को हुई हिंसा के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर एक नकाबपोश लड़की की तस्वीर वायरल हो रही है. लोग लिख रहे हैं कि यही लड़की हमलावरों की अगुवाई कर रही थी. पत्रकारों से बातचीत के दौरान लड़की ने अपनी पूरी बात दुनिया के सामने रखी है. नकाब में वायरल हो रही लड़की का नाम शाम्भवी है. शाम्भवी का कहना है कि जेएनयू में जब हिंसा हुई उस वक्त वह वहां मौजूद ही नहीं थी. उसने बताया कि जिस समय साबरमती हॉस्टल में हंगामा हुआ वह उस समय हॉस्पिटल में भर्ती थी. उनके पास पर्ची भी है जब शाम 6.30 बजे वह AIIMS में भर्ती थी. उसने बताया कि पेरियार हॉस्टल में जब हमला हुआ था तब वो घायल हो गयी थी. शाम्भवी का आरोप है कि जो वीडियो वायरल हो रहा है उसमें वह है ही नहीं. वह आज भी वहीं चेक शर्ट पहनी हुई है. उसका कलर और उनके शर्ट का कलर दोनों अलग है.

JNU हिंसा में दिल्ली पुलिस ने दर्ज की FIR

इस मामले में वसंत कुंज थाने में दर्ज हुए मुकदमें मे कहा गया है कि जेएनयू के छात्र पिछले कुछ दिनों से हॉस्टल फीस वृद्धि के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं. हाईकोर्ट के निर्देश के अनुसार प्रशासनिक ब्लॉक के 100 मीटर के दायरे में किसी भी विरोध की अनुमति नहीं है. मुकदमें में आगे कहा गया है कि एक इंस्पेक्टर की अगुवाई में एक पुलिस दल 5 जनवरी को अपराह्न 3.45 बजे प्रशासनिक ब्लॉक में तैनात किया गया, कुछ छात्रों के बारे में सूचना मिली कि पेरियार हॉस्टल में इकट्ठा हुए हैं और उनके बीच लड़ाई हुई है और वे संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचा रहे हैं. 

निरीक्षक अन्य पुलिसकर्मियों के साथ पेरियार हॉस्टल पहुंचे जहां उन्होंने लगभग 50 लोगों को नकाब पहने और लाठियों से लैस पाया. भीड़ हॉस्टल में छात्रों को पीट रही थी और संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचा रही थी, लेकिन पुलिस को देखकर वे सभी भाग गए. शाम करीब 7 बजे साबरमती हॉस्टल में भड़के छात्रों और छात्रों की पिटाई के बारे में हिंसा के पीसीआर कॉल आने लगे. 

पीए सिस्टम की मदद से वैंडल्स को चेतावनी जारी की गई थी लेकिन वे संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचा रहे थे और छात्रों की पिटाई कर रहे थे. वे सब भाग गए. कई छात्रों को चोटें आईं और उन्हें एम्स ले जाया गया. सार्वजनिक संपत्ति अधिनियम को नुकसान की रोकथाम में आईपीसी की धारा 145, 147, 148 149, 151 और धारा 3 के तहत एफआईआर दर्ज की गई है.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने क्या कहा?

दिल्ली पुलिस के PRO मनदीप सिंह रंधावा ने बताया, ‘दोनों गुटों ने बाहरी लोगों को बुलाया था. रविवार (5 जनवरी) की घटना से पहले दिल्ली पुलिस तीन FIR पहले दर्ज कर चुकी है. कुल चार कैस दर्ज हुए हैं. शाम 5 बजे के बाद कॉल मिली था. ऑनलाइन रेजिस्ट्रेशन हुआ था. वहीं चेक करते हैं एडमिन ब्लॉक के पास पुलिस होती है. एडमिन ब्लॉक में पुलिस की दो पोलीमेंट होती है. सीसीटीव कलेक्ट कर जांच शरू कर दी गयी है. 34 एडमिट हुए थे सभी को डिस्चार्ज कर दिया गया है.’

उन्होंने कहा कि फैक्ट फाइंडिंग कमिटी बनाई गई है. शालनी सिंह लीड कर रही हैं. सभी बिंदु की जांच की जा रही है. पीसीआर कॉल मिलते ही पुलिस गयी थी. सोशल मीडिया के वाट्सऐप की जांच की जा रही है.

The Senate Election of the Panjab University of Registered Graduate Constituency on 20.09.2020

                The Senate Election of the Panjab University of Registered Graduate Constituency will be held on 20.09.2020. In this Election, the existing voters and new voters can cast their votes. Fifteen (15) members are to be elected from this Constituency.

  1. The following classes of graduates of the Panjab University shall be eligible for enrolment provided that they are domiciled in India:
  2. Those who have taken a Doctorate degree or Master’s degree, in any Faculty of the University;
  3. Those who have graduated, not less than 5 years before registration, in any Faculty of the Panjab University, Chandigarh; or from the University of the Panjab, Lahore. For this purpose, the period of 5 years shall be counted from the year in which a person passed the degree examination concerned.

Illustration:- A Person was declared to have passed the B.A. examination in 2015 or before, he will be eligible for enrolment in 2020.

  • The voter shall also indicate the year and Roll No. of passing the Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination along with the name of University/Board from where he has passed the said examination

Those who fulfill the above condition/s can deposit the application form upto 24.02.2020, obtainable from the P.U website (http:senateelections.puchd.ac.in/show-noticeboard.php?nbid=1) with cost of Rs. 1/- (application form) and fee of Rs. 15/- (life membership) (Total Rs. 16/-) along with self attested Photo Residence proof and one latest passport size photograph.

  • They can also send the above documents (scanned copies) by sending email with subject “Registration P.U. Senate Election 2020” to elections@pu.ac.in.
  • Existing voter: A voter, whose name already exists in the voter list used for election in 2016, need not send the above documents to revalidate his/her name. However, to be eligible to vote in the Election Scheduled in Sept. 2020, a photo ID with address such as Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, valid Passport, Driving License, Senior Citizen Card, Bank Passbook is a must at the time of voting for all the voters
  • Change of Address: If any voter wants to get the address changed, he/she can download the same form P.U. website and deposit the same upto 23.04.2020 in the election Cell, P.U. Chandigarh. No fee is required to be deposited with Change of Address form.
