Special lecture organized by DLIS, PU on “OPEN DATA ACTIVITIES AND ROLE OF LIBRARY”

The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organized special lectures on “open data activities and role of library” under the Alumni Connect Series’. The chairperson of the department welcomed the resource person and participants. Prof. Manoj K Joshi from the Department of Library and Information Science, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, was the resource person. Mr. Mukul Pandey, Research Scholar of the department, introduced the resource person and theme of the lecture.

Prof. Manoj K Joshi given insight about open data activities. In his lecture, he discussed various aspects of open data, like open data licenses and the open data policy of India. He also discussed various open data sources, such as the Global Data Index and the Government of India’s Open Data Portal. Prof. Manoj K Joshi has taken the interactive question answer session at the end to solve the participants questions.

Today’s lecture was attended by about 70 participants. Rajan Sharma, Research Scholar of department, presented a vote of thanks.
