UIPS CELEBRATED THE WORLD PHARMACISTS DAY
University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Silvercity Midtown, Chandigarh organized a talk on “Organ Donation” to celebrate World Pharmacists Day with the theme “Pharmacists: Strengthening Health System: Angdan Mahadan” on 25 September 2023. World Pharmacists Day is observed globally on 25th September every year to draw attention to pharmacies pharmacists and the positive benefits they offer when it comes to health. Professor Anil Kumar Chairperson, UIPS extended a cordial welcome and emphasized on the different roles of pharmacist and pharmacy professionals in health care system.
Ms Saryu D. Madra, Consultant (IEC/Media) with Regional Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization, (ROTTO) PGIMER and a proud alumnus of Mass Communication and Journalism Panjab University Chandigarh delivered a talk. At the onset she sensitized the audience by statement that Organ donation is not just a noble act; it’s a lifeline for those who are waiting for a second chance to save their life. Ms Madra discussed the legalities involved and cleared various myths about organ donation. She motivated the audience to adopt healthy life style to donate healthy organs. The session was concluded with overwhelming responses from the audience.
