Union Home Minister lays the foundation stone of three development projects worth Rs. 2366 crore

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah while attending the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games-2021 held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula today laid the foundation stone of three pivotal development projects costing Rs. 2366 crore.
The list of the projects includes two medical colleges in Yamunanagar and Kaithal districts to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1942 crore. Besides this, the Union Home Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of raw water supply channel by Haryana to the 2800 MW Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana at an estimated cost of Rs. 394 crore.

Thanking the Union Minister for laying the foundation stones of these three pivotal development projects, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that with the construction of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Government Medical College, Yamunanagar to be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 997 crores and Government Medical College, Kaithal to be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 945 crores, State Government’s vision of providing best health services to the common man will soon be realized.

“Both the Centre as well as the State Government have taken several health initiatives for the citizens while working on the Mantra of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah,” said, CM. Manohar Lal.

Every district to have one Medical College by 2025

The Chief Minister said that from health perspective dedicated steps are being taken by the State Government.  Recruitment of specialized doctors along with strengthening the health infrastructures is being ensured. Besides this, the State Government has also set a target of opening one Medical College in every district by 2025, he added.

“When our government was formed in 2014, the number of MBBS seats in Haryana was only 750. With the opening of new medical colleges, now these seats have become 1600 and when more medical colleges like these two mentioned above will open in each district, then these seats will go up to 2900. With this, there will be no shortage of doctors in the state,” said CM. Manohar Lal.

He said that dedicated efforts are being made to ensure every family gets state-of-the-art health facilities.
Nuclear Power Plant to Usher in Opening of New Vistas of Development

The Chief Minister while thanking the Union Home Minister for laying the foundation stone of the construction of the raw water supply channel by Haryana to the 2800 MW Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana at an estimated cost of Rs. 394 crore said that this Nuclear Power Plant will Usher in Opening of New Vistas of Development.

“The Gorakhpur Anu Vidyut Pariyojana is an ambitious initiative of the Central Government.  This plant will generate 2800 MW of electricity, out of which 1400 MW will be supplied to the people of Haryana state. With the commissioning of this plant, smooth electricity supply will be ensured to the people of Haryana,” said CM. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that with the installation of the nuclear plant, the identity of the village Gorakhpur will be established on the international stage. The residents of the surrounding area where the said plant would be set up will not only get ample employment but it will also bring about economic prosperity for the entire State.
