Area adjacent to the wetlands used by migratory birds in village Alipur Naggal decleared infected with Avian Influenza (H5N1)

Panchkula, February 22:

In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of section 6 read with Sub-section (1) and (2) of Section 7 of  “The Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009 (27 of 2009)”, Deputy Commissioner, Sh Mukesh Kumar Ahuja has declared  area adjacent to the wetlands used by migratory birds in village Alipur Naggal infected with Avian Influenza (H5N1).

       He said that the area within 1 Kilometer radius from epicenters (area adjacent to the wetlands used by migratory birds in village Alipur Naggal) has been declared as “Infected Zone” and further area between 1-10 kilometer radius from epicenters as “Surveillance Zone”.

       Mr Ahuja said that in the areas of the alert zones as well as surveillance zone, no birds eggs or feed of avian species that is poultry, ducks, turkey, guinea foul etc. will be moved from the above described area to any other place. However, healthy birds, eggs or feed from free areas can enter into the above area.
