Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Two different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 21.01.2020. Later he was released on bail.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Vinod R/o # 6627/C, Sector-56, Chandigarh and Vijay Kumar R/o # 6543/C, Sector-56, Chandigarh while they were gambling on 21.01.2020. Total cash Rs. 550/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 22, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later they were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt. Jalandhar (PB) harassed her to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 15, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Bijnour (UP) harassed her to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 16, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

A girl resident of Sector-48, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH01-AH-6659 from parking of Rose Garden Sector-16, Chandigarh on 21.01.2020. A case FIR No. 14, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Niranjan Gautam R/o # 555, Samadhi Gate, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Alto car No HR49A-3316 from parking of RIMT World School, Manimajra, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 12, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Theft

A lady resident of Zirakpur Mohali (PB) reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s MI-5 Mobile Phone from her pocket at Shashtri Market, Sector-22, Chandigarh on 21.01.2020. A case FIR No. 15, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Attempt to commit culpable homicide

A case FIR No. 17, U/S 308 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the statement of Vikas Nagpal R/o # 110, Sector-11A, Chandigarh against Akhilesh Mahajan who beaten & attacked on his mother Sushma Gupta at rented accommodation i.e. # 120, Sector-11A, Chandigarh on 21.01.2020. She got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
