Three arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Dharra R/o # 1390, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 16 quarters of country made liquor near Gurudwara, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh on 17.12.2019. A case FIR No. 301, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Mangat Sharma R/o # 1172, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 16 quarters of country made liquor near Govt. School, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh on 17.12.2019. A case FIR No. 302, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Ashish @ Kaku R/o # 320, Village-Kajheri, Chandigarh who was selling recovered 8 boxes of English Wine/ Whisky, one box country made liquor, one box of Halves of country made liquor and 3 boxes of quarters of country made liquor in front of Sunil Kiryana Store, Sector-52, Chandigarh on 17.12.2019. A case FIR No. 255, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No. 460, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against Dharmender Kumar R/o # 147/1, Sector-55, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with rehri/fari in front of SCO No. 73, Sector-40/C, Chandigarh on 16-12-2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

NDPS Act

A case FIR No. 300, U/S 18 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Peeyush Bahl R/o Plot No. 360, Excel Worldwide Pvt Ltd, Phase-2, Ind. Area, Chandigarh who reported that while inspecting one parcel 130 gm Afeem was found on 13.12.2019. The parcel was booked by Mr. Balwinder Singh C/O DTDC Courier, Near Bhole Sweets, Old Ropar Bus Stand, Sirhind, Dist. Fatehgarh Sahib, Pujab. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Copyright Act

A case FIR No. 394, U/S 63 Copyright Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh in connection with the Vigilance Enquiry against owner of Happy Book Depot, SCO No. 2409, Sector-22C Chandigarh. During surprise checking by Vigilance team along with NCERT Expert, the stocks of NCERT books seems to be duplicate were seized from Happy Book Depot Sector-22C Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

          A lady resident of Village Behlana, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Kharar, (PB) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 165, U/S 406, 498-A has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
