15 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive, yesterday, total 15 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 15 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11=02 cases, PS-17 = 02, PS-IA=01 case, PS-MM=01 case, PS-MJ = 02, PS-49=01, PS-36=03 & PS-39=03 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No. 210, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh against Om Parkash R/o # 40, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way by installing rehri/fari near Kishangarh Chowk, Chandigarh on 22.09.2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 211, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh against Shri Ram R/o # 628, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way by installing rehri/fari near Kishangarh Chowk, Chandigarh on 22.09.2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohd. Irfan R/o # 155, Ph-3A, Mohali (PB) while he was illegally possessing 36 bottles, 36 halves & 1392 quarters of country made liquor and 36 bottles, 36 halves & 96 quarters of English wine near Community Centre Sector-53, Chandigarh on 22.09.2019. A case FIR No. 196, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested in Theft case

Avinash Chander, Care taker, Govt. of India, Taxi Book colony, Sector 29, Chandigarh alleged that two persons namely Pardeep Singh R/o # 1445/17 Sec 29/B, Chandigarh and Mukesh Kumar R/o # 1433/28 Sec-29/B, Chandigarh were caught red handed while they were stealing taps from H.No. 2266, Sector 29C, Chandigarh on 22.09.2019. A case FIR No. 260, U/S 380, 457, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Alleged person have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

 Kapil Dev R/o # 723 Sector-7/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his bicycle from near his house on 21.09.2019. A case FIR No. 227, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Kiran Sharma R/o # 1081 FF Sector-42/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s hand bag containing one mobile phone, 1 pair gold ear ring and one gold ring from her Activa Scooter near Market, Village-Badheri, Sector-41, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 326, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Manish Kumar R/o # 113 Village-Baterla, Sector-41, Chandigarh alleged that a person namely Sabbi stolen away complainant’s cash Rs. 2500/- and his friend kuldeep’s cash Rs. 13500 & Driving License from his residence on night intervening 19/20.09.2019. A case FIR No. 328, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 168, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Suraj Pal R/o # 151 Rajiv Colony, Sec-17, Panchkula (HR) who alleged that driver of car No. HR02S0765 namely Balbir Singh R/o # 530 Vill-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh hit complainant’s motor No. HR03M4056 near Govt. School Village-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 21.09.2019. Complainant and pillion rider Laxmi got injuries and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Alleged car driver arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Ashok Kumar Sharma R/o # 484, Sec-77, Mohali, (PB) reported that unknown person stolen away 150 kg brass tap, paper holder, two brass sword and cash Rs 40,000/- from Plot No. 114, Ph-2, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the night intervening 21/22-09-2019. A case FIR No. 243, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Shivaksh Batyal R/o # 115, Village-Buterla, Sector-41, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away mobile phone from complainant’s residence on 22.09.2019. A case FIR No. 325, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
