Massive Tree Plantation Drive

Korel, Chandigarh July 19, 2019

            Massive Tree Plantation Drive at Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (Dr.SSBUICET), P.U. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has launched a campaign to plant the trees. Accordingly a massive Tree Plantation Drive for Environmental Awareness amongst students was held at Dr.SSB University institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, Panjab University in collaboration with Horticulture Unit of Panjab University.

            The Tree Plantation Drive was inaugurated by Prof.Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instruction and officiating Vice Chancellor.

            Prof. Sanchita Chauhan, Chairperson & Dean Faculty of Engg. & Technology informed that PU Fellow Dr. Parveen Goyal, was the driving force behind this drive. She further informed that large number of teaching, research scholars, students, and non-teaching staff of the Dr.SSBUICET along with some staff members of horticulture department under the able guidance of Sh. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer, Horticulture participated in the drive, informed.

            Around 50 saplings of various plants like Chandni, Kaner, Neem, Kachnor and Tecoma trees were planted around the institute.
