26 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 23 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 26 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS- 03= 02 cases, PS-17= 02 cases, PS- 19= 01 case, PS-26= 02 cases, PS- Indst. Area= 02 cases, PS- Mauli Jagran= 03 cases, PS- I.T Park = 01 case, PS- 34= 05 cases, PS- 49= 02 cases, PS- 36= 02 cases, PS- 49= 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Rinku @ chota R/o # 107, village- Faidan, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 30 quarters of country made liquor near Iron Bridge, village- Faidan, Chandigarh on 13.07.2019. A case FIR No. 199, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Vinay Kumar Joshi R/o Mahiyal Bhawan, Plot No. 30-31, Sector- 24, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Pulsar motor cycle No. CH-03Q-6242 while parked near his residence on 11.07.2019. A case FIR No. 138, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Rishu Kumar R/o # 1339, Sector- 3, Hoshiarpur, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s splendor cycle No. PB-07AR-3859 from parking of GH-16, Chandigarh on 11.07.2019. A case FIR No. 217, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Deepak Mittal R/o # 112, village- Kajheri, Sector- 52, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s motor cycle No. UP-16AU-0989 from in front of Ambedkat Institute, lake Parking, Sector- 42, Chandigarh on 08.07.2019. A case FIR No. 151, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Anoop Kumar Mahajan R/o # 1183 Sector- 41/B, Chandigarh reported that 02 unknown persons occupant of motor cycle sped away after snatched gold chain with locket from complainant’s near his residence on 13.07.2019. A case FIR No. 208, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Attempt to murder

A case FIR No. 210, U/S 307 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Hira Lal R/o Jhuggi No. 187 A, Adarsh Colony, Sector- 54, Chandigarh who alleged that Rajesh Paswan @ Binny R/o Adarsh Colony, Sector- 54, Chandigarh who beaten complainant’s brother-in-law namely Rajinder Paswan near Govt. Toilets, Sector- 54, Chandigarh on 09.07.2019. Rajinder Paswan got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Later he refer to PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

 Navrattan Kumar Jain R/o # 1609, Sector- 15, Distt.- Panchkula, Haryana reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s bag containing cash Rs. 1,50,000/-, documents and keys from his car No. CH-01BF-2237 near SCO No. 172, Grain market, Sector- 26, Chandigarh on 13.07.2019. A case FIR No. 158, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Suresh Yadav R/o # 526, Block-F, Colony No.4, Chandigarh reported that one person namely Raju stolen away waste material from complainant’s factory No. 94, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh on 13.07.2019. A case FIR No. 177, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Ashok Sharma R/o # 2063, Sector- 45, Chandigarh alleged that Mani Ram R/o # 3934, Kacha Bhaskar Road, Muktsar, Punjab who cheated with complainant’s for Rs. 1,75,000/- for doing Puja to help complainant in his business. A case FIR No. 195, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No.125 U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Abhay Raj R/o # 45, Charan Singh Colony, Village- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh who was arrested, while he was running Egg Rehri at public place near Govt. High School, Charan Singh Colony, village- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh and obstructing public way. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
