Chandigarh Police’s “Sahyog” fruitful

Purnoor, Chandigarh:

         Chandigarh Police initiated program namely ‘Sahyog’ under the flagship scheme of central govt. namely “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana” to engage youths by imparting and upgrading their skills as per their natural caliber under the guidance of Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP/Chandigarh. This program equipped them with high quality training to help them access the opportunities. Under this skill development program 480 students were trained under vocational courses in (1) Beauty and wellness (2) General Duty Hospital Assistant (3) Retail Store Assistant (4) Food & Beverage assistance. Mrs. Nilambri Jagadale, IPS, SSP/UT/ Chandigarh was appointed as Nodal Officer for the effective mplementation of this scheme. Earlier a counseling session was also organized at Police Lines Sector 26 under the chairmanship of Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP/Chandigarh wherein around 600 people had participated to get training. Counseling session of identified candidates was conducted by Mrs. Nilambri Jagadale, IPS, SSP/UT/Chandigarh and SDPO’s.  Under this programme, a survey was conducted and targeted beneficiaries were identified amongst School Dropouts, Victims of Crime, Juvenile delinquents, Families in dire need, Drug Addicts or youth in high risk category of becoming drug addicts.

          Now under this project a ‘Mega Job Fair’ is being organized on 20.06.2019 at Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh to get placement for youths who were trained by Chandigarh Police free of cost under skill training development programme in various vocational courses. Several reputed companies i.e. PUMA, EUREKA FORBES, Burger King, Burger Singh, Domino’s Pizza, MC Donald’s, KFC, Taj, Lemon Tree, SAROVAR, Pizza Hut, SODEXO, PORTEA, VLCC, OLA, Max Life Insurance, HDFC Bank, etc. will offer placement to these trained youths. Sh. V.P.Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT, Chandigarh has consented to be the Chief Guest of this event.  

          Such type of programme will motivate other youths to become part of such programmes and make them to live their life peacefully and will help in creating a better society.
