38 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

        In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 37 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 38 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03= 05 cases, PS-11= 04 cases, PS-17= 04 cases, PS- Sarangpur= 03 cases, PS- 19= 02 Cases, PS- 26= 02 cases, PS-Ind. Area= 02 cases, PS-Manimajra= 03 cases, PS-IT Park= 02 cases, PS- Mauli Jagran= 02 cases, PS-31= 02 cases, PS- 34= 1 case, PS-49 = 01 case, PS-36= 01 case, PS-39 = 02 cases, PS-Maloya= 01 case.

Theft

Pintu Meeda R/o # 227, Guru Tej Bahadur Colony, Rajpura, Distt.- Patiala, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away gold and diamond jewellery from complainant’s shop SCO No. 34, Top Floor, Sector- 23/C, Chandigarh on night intervening 13/14.06.2019. A case FIR No. 172, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Rahul Gupta R/o # 179, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s splendor plus motor cycle No. CH-01AV-5409 while parked near his residence on night intervening on 13/14.06.2019. A case FIR No.81, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Distt.- Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. PB-65AM-5152 from parking of Gurudwara, Sector- 34, Chandigarh on 12.06.2019. A case FIR No.145 U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- 34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Ram Lal R/o # 465/A, Sector- 39/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s splendor motor cycle No. HR-03M-7182 while parked near his residence on 27.05.2019. A case FIR No.81, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Suresh Pal R/o # 1830, DMC, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s splendor motor cycle No. CH-01AS-9477 while parked near his residence on night intervening 25/26.05.2019. A case FIR No.81, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- Maloya, Chandigarh.

Accident

        A case FIR No. 139, U/S 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh against unknown driver of vehicle who hit to a person namely Charanjit Singh  R/o # 553/1, BDC, Sector- 26, Chandigarh (age-40 yrs) in parking No. 33, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh on 10.06.2019. Charanjit Singh got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh, where doctor declared him brought dead. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 140, U/S 279, 337 A IPC has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh on the statement of Binta Sharma R/o # 3009, Sector- 29/D, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of car No. PB-65AN-4117 namely Rakesh Kumar Saini R/o # 169, Tribune Colony, Village- Baltana, Zirakpur, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab who sped away after hitting to pedestrian complainant near Sidh Baba Balak Nath Mandir, Sector- 29, Chandigarh on 24.04.2019. Pedestrian lady namely Binta Sharma got injured and admitted in GMCH- 32, Chandigarh. The case has been registered on Public Window Complaint. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 143, U/S 452, 427, 324, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gurdev Singh R/o # 2012/15, Sector- 32/C, Chandigarh who alleged that Lakhwinder Singh R/o # 2012/15, Sector- 32/C, Chandigarh who trespassed in his house, quarrel and attacked complainant with sharp weapon at his house on 13.06.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-32, Chandigarh. Later on one accused person namely Lakhwinder Singh R/o # 2012/15, Sector- 32/C, Chandigarh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 144, U/S 341, 323, 324, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Lakhwinder Singh R/o # 2012/15, Sector- 32/C, Chandigarh who alleged that Gurdev Singh R/o # 2012/15, Sector- 32/C, Chandigarh who beaten and threatened complainant at his house on 13.06.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted inGH-32, Chandigarh. Later on one accused person namely Gurdev Singh R/o # 2012/15, Sector- 32/C, Chandigarh has been arrested in this case. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
