Twelve persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place

        In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 11 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 12 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03= 1 case, PS-17= 09 cases, PS-IT Park= 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Eve-teasing

A lady alleged that Abhishek R/o # 428/D, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh who physically molested complainant near Dispensary, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh on 11.05.2019. A case FIR No. 152, U/S 354, 354/A, 354/D IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

        Chandigarh Police arrested Mahender Kumar R/o # 811, Phase-II, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh while he was gambling near Axis Bank ATM, Phase-II, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh on 21.05.2019. Total cash Rs. 670/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 151, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 137, U/S 279, 337 IPC and added 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Buta Ram R/o # 2612, Sector- 25, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Baleno Car No. CH-01AJ-5977 namely Monika R/o # 1685, Sector- 22, Chandigarh who hit to Bajaj Chetak Scooter No. CH-013M-7844 near Petrol Pump, Sector-37/A, Chandigarh on 21.05.2019. Driver of Bajaj Chetak Scooter namely Meghraj R/o # 1522, Chaman Colony, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh where he expired during treatment. Accused person arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
