Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 24 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 14 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 14 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03 = 1 case, PS-11 = 3 cases, PS-19 = 2 cases, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-Indst. Area = 1 case, PS-Mauli Jagran = 4 cases, PS-I.T Park = 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Three arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sunil @ Nandu R/o # 718/16, BDC, Sector-16, Chandigarh from near Angarbari, Block No. 714, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh and recovered 22 injections of drugs from his possession on 07.04.2019. A case FIR No. 85, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 33, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mr. Amandeep Singh, Deputy Superintendent Model Jail, Burail, Chandigarh against inmate Bobby R/o Barrack No. 5, Model Jail Burail, Chandigarh. During his search 13.60 gram Charas found from his barrack on 07.04.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 34, U/S 18 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mr. Amandeep Singh, Deputy Superintendent Model Jail, Burail, Chandigarh against inmate Parwinder Singh R/o Barrack No. 4, Model Jail Burail, Chandigarh. During his search 19.20 gram Opium found from his barrack on 07.04.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested for Theft

A case FIR No. 91, U/S 380 IPC and added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Devinder Sain R/o # 219, Village- Palsora, Chandigarh against unknown person who stolen away Complainant’s hardware items from his shop No. 95, Village- Palsora, Chandigarh on 07.04.2019. Later on 02 accused persons namely Deepak Singh R/o # 219, Village- Palsora, Chandigarh (age-30 yrs) and Roshan Singh R/o # 54, Village- Palsora, Chandigarh (age-21) have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

         A case FIR No. 92, U/S 380 IPC added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajesh Kumar R/o # 1424, Sector- 9, Distt.- Karnal, Haryana against unknown persons who stolen away complainant’s Splendor motor cycle No. HR-05AH-7837 while parked near SCO No. 301, Sector- 38/D, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. Later on 01 accused person namely Gursewak R/o # 1826, Daddu Majra Colony, Chandigarh (age-24 yrs) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Eve-teasing

A case FIR No. 63, U/S 354, 354-D IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Sector- 26, Chandigarh against Kapil Arora R/o # 323, K.C Road, Barnala, Punjab who eve-teased to complainant’s in park, Sector- 15, Chandigarh on 07.04.2019. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Action against Gambling/Satta

        Chandigarh Police arrested Lakhan @ Tinchu R/o # 282, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh while he was gambling near # 219, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 07.04.2019. Total cash Rs. 1,730/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 78, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Bantish Mangotra R/o # 359, Sector- 20/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bullet motor cycle No. JK-02BV-9828 while parked near his residence on 06.04.2019. A case FIR No. 50, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Rohit R/o # 1067, Sector- 21/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 02 mobile phones, cash Rs. 2,000/- and 01 Pulsar motor cycle No. HR-85B-7826 from complainant’s residence on 07-04-2019. A case FIR No. 49, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Shivendra Saroop R/o # 1619, Sector- 7, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Water motor, 20 litre pant bucket and 01 speaker from complainant’s residence on night intervening dated 06/07.04.2019. A case FIR No. 84, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Khudda Lahora Colony, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Daddu Majra Colony, Chandigarh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 64, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-44/A, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & Others resident of Distt.- SBS Nagar, Naya Sahar, punjab harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 65, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.
