Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 05 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 05 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03 = 3 cases, PS-Sarangpur = 1 case, PS-49 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Upender @ Upain R/o # 31, Village- Lohgarh, Zirakpur, Punjab from near Amrita Floor Mill, Plot No. 3, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh and recovered 10 gram Heroin from his possession on 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 94, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Vinod Kumar R/o # 247/1, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh from near lake, Sector-42, Chandigarh and recovered 10 gram Heroin from his possession on 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 81, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay R/o Jhuggi No. 140, l-Block, Colony No.4, Indst. Area, Chandigarh from near Govt. School, Colony, No.4, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 25 quarters of country made liquor on 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 95, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Colony No.4, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh from near Govt. Toilet, Colony, No.4, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 23 quarters of country made liquor on 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 96, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh. Later she bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Nitu @ Amit R/o # 1052, DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near Govt. tubewell, DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. Total cash Rs. 2,300/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 62, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Azim R/o # 752, Sector- 11, Distt.- Panchkula, Haryana, Jony R/o # 3244, Mouli Complex, Chandigarh, Kishore R/o # 248, Charan Singh Colony, Village- Mouli Jagran, Chandigarh, Muktyar Singh R/o # 3284, Mouli Complex, Chandigarh and Vicky R/o # 1263, Mouli Complex, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Dolki Colony, Village- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. Total cash Rs. 7,400/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 58, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Kala R/o # 2013, Mouli Complex while he was gambling and cheating people near # 2013, Mouli Complex, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. Total cash Rs. 2,800/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 59, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act & 420 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Lovepreet R/o # 824, Sector-40/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Jupiter Scooter No. CH-01BV-3031 from parking of RLA, Sector-17, Chandigarh on 01.04.2019. A case FIR No. 98, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Shubhdeep R/o # 2682, Sector-38 West, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s motor cycle No. CH-04E-7403 while parked near SCO No. 308, Sector-38/C, Chandigarh on 29.03.2019. A case FIR No. 86, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- 39 Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Mandeep Sachdeva R/o # 49, Sector-10/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s household items from his residence on 04-04-2019. A case FIR No. 106, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Mulana Mohhamad Azmal Khan R/o Masjid, Sector-20, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Rs. 20,000/- from cash box and 01 CCTV DVR from Masjid, Sector-20, Chandigarh on 04-04-2019. A case FIR No. 45, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Ajay Mahajan R/o # 1529, Sector-18/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away stolen away complainant’s 01 CCTV Camera from backside of his residence on night intervening 03/04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 46, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Sarwan R/o # 131/B, Complex, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that 3-4 unknown persons sped away after snatching complainant’s mobile phone from near Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Sector-44, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 84, U/S 379, 356, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Jaspal Singh R/o # 1445, Sector-39/B, Chandigarh alleged that 02 unknown persons occupant of activa scooter sped away after snatching complainant’s wife purse containing cash Rs. 15,000/- Jio phone, Pan Card, ATM Card, Aadhar Card, 01 cheque Book & Gold Chain from near # 1635, Sector- 40, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 85, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Abducted/missing

A person resident of village- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh reported that complainant’s daughter aged about 14 years has been missing from her residence since 04.04.2019. A case FIR No. 60, U/S 363, 366 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 32, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Tejinder Singh Bagga R/o # 315, Advocate Society, Sector- 49/A, Chandigarh against driver of car No. HR-44F-2924 who sped away after hitting to complainant’s car No. CH-01AZ-8812 and 01 other car No. CH-01AH-8345 at Sector- 50 B & C Turn, Chandigarh on 04.04.2019. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Deterred Public servant

A case FIR No. 105, U/S 341, 332, 353, 506, 382, 511 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Manish Kumar Patwari, DC office, Distt.- Jhajjar, Haryana who alleged that Rakesh, Puran Chand, Yajdutt, Surinder & Mahavir all R/o DC office, Distt.- Jhajjar, Haryana restrained and beaten complainant at outside Court No. 25, Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh while he came to present Govt. Record. They threatened him and also tried to snatch Govt. record. Investigation of the case is in progress.
