Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 05 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 05 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17= 2 cases, PS-I.T Park = 3 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Rakesh Kumar R/o # 127, I-Block, Colony No.4, Chandigarh while he was gambling & cheating people near Sabji Mandi, Colony No.4, Chandigarh on 27.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 850/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 88, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act & 420 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Theft

A case FIR No. 69, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rishab R/o # 2207, sector-27/C, Chandigarh against unknown person stolen away mobile phone from complainant’s car No. CH-01BH-7738 while parked near his residence on dated 15.03.2019. Later on 01 accused person namely Vash Raj Bhandari R/o # 232. Phase-2, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh (age-22 yrs) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

04 arrested for Robbery

          Shiva Kailash R/o # 206, Village- Kishangarh, Chandigarh reported that 04 unknown persons robbed away complainant’s purse containing cash Rs. 20/- and Aadhar Card at knife point near Govt. School, Village- Kishangarh, Chandigarh on 27.03.2019. Out of 04 persons 01 accused person namely Sunil @ Sonu R/o # 52, Village-Kishangarh, Chandigarh caught by the complainant and his friends on the spot. A case FIR No. 68, U/S 392, 34 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-I.T Park, Chandigarh. Later on 03 accused persons  namely Shubham Pandey R/o Village- Chainpura, PS- Dakia, Disst.- Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Alok Kumar R/o Jhuggi No. 678, Kachi Colony, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh and Parvesh R/o village- Dholpur, PS- Varsiganj, Distt.- Jagdishpur, Uttar Pradesh have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Jitin Bansal R/o # 216, sector-18/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away stolen away cash Rs. 22,000/- from complainant’s shop SCO No.8, Sector-19/C, Chandigarh on night intervening dated 23/24.03.2019. A case FIR No. 38, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Anil Dhiwan R/o # 1125, Sector-33/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away stolen away AC Copper pipe from complainant’s residence on 27.03.2019. A case FIR No. 75, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Rajinder R/o # 2340, Phase-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bajaj Discover Motor Cycle No CH-04F-9760 while parked near his house on the night intervening 26/27-03-2019. A case FIR No. 59, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 68, U/S 279, 337 added 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rani R/o VPO- Sagnetri Dhanari, Distt.-Una, Himachal Pradesh against driver of activa scooter No. CH-01Y-6599 namely mansi R/o # 3121, Sector-29/D, Chandigarh who hit to complainant’s mother (pedestrian) near BDC Light Point, Chandigarh on 25.03.2019. Complainant’s mother namely Roshni got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh later she expired during treatment. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 52, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Subhash Joshi R/o # 13, New Govind Vihar, Baltana, Zirakpur, Punjab against driver of car No. PB-08DJ-7967 namely Akashdeep R/o # 1021, Sector-79, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab who hit to complainant’s motor cycle No. PB-65T-2761 at Hallo Majra light Point to Village- Mauli Jagran road, Chandigarh on 27.03.2019. Complainant and his wife namely Sunanda Joshi both got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
