PS- Maloya registered a case regarding prevention of corruption act

Complainant X appeared before W/SSP/UT, Chandigarh on 25.03.2019 and complaint about demanding and accepting an amount of Rs. 10,000/- as bribe by Const. Sanjay Kumar 3735/CP and Head Constable Ashok Kumar 2981/CP of Police Station- Maloya, Chandigarh in order to shield his business partner Y in incident of quarrel which had occurred in Dadu Majra, Chandigarh.

Upon receipt of this complaint, a case FIR No. 43 dated 25.03.2019 U/s:7,13(1)(B) Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Const Sanjay Kumar 3735/CP and Head Constable Ashok Kumar 2981/CP of Police Station- Maloya, Chandigarh on the directions of Senior Officers.

Constable Sanjay Kumar 3735/CP joined investigation of the case and was thoroughly examined/questioned. Full opportunity has been given to him to put his version. The co-accused Head Constable Ashok Kumar 2981/CP is on leave and he will join investigation on his arrival. No arrest has been made so far. The decision on arrest of accused persons shall be taken after examining all evidence. Constable Sanjay Kumar has been placed under suspension and HC Ashok Kumar has been sent to Police Lines.
