Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 04 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 04 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-3= 1 case, PS- Mauli Jagran = 2 cases, PS-I.T Park = 1 case.
This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Action against Gambling/Satta
Chandigarh Police arrested Mohd. Faruk R/o # 290, Block-K, Colony No.4, Chandigarh while he was gambling from Plot No. 212, near Govt. Toilet, Colony No.4, Chandigarh on 25.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 1,250/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 87, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act & 420 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 78, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Santosh Kumar R/o # 1111, Sector-36/C, Chandigarh who alleged that unknown person cheated complainant and withdrawn cash Rs. 80,000/- from his account through SBI Atm at SCO No. 439-40, Sector-35/C, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
MV Theft
Vishal Jaswal R/o # 2109/C, Block No. 27, Sector-63, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Honda City car No. HP-20D-1066 from complainant’s residence parking on night intervening dated 23/24.03.2019. A case FIR No. 27, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Deepak Chauhan R/o # 50/18, Village- Attawa, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. CH-49(T)-9565while parked near Star Public School, Sector-52, Chandigarh on 21.03.2019. A case FIR No. 79, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Constable Virender 6625/IRB, reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s motor cycle No. PB-08BU-7998 from PP-Palsora parking in between 15.02.2019 to 25.03.2019. A case FIR No. 77, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Escape from custody
A case FIR No. 46, U/S 224, 225 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh on the complaint of SI. Kuldeep Singh, Haryana Police againstprisoner Javed R/o 124, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh who was accused in case FIR No. 25 Dt 23.03.19 U/S 379, 342 IPC, GRP, Chandigarh. Javed was produced in the Hon’ble Court of Sh. Tarun Kahsi Verma, JMIC, Distt. Panchkula, Haryana on 25.03.19 and after getting 01 day Police remand he was taken by Police Officials to # 867, HBC, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh for the arrest of his co-accused and recovery of case property. But when the police party reached at # 867, HBC, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh the co-accused namely Vicky @ Sahil fled away after seeing the Police Party. When the Police Party returning back and taken the accused Javed near Old Police Post turn, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh where the govt. gypsy was standing he pushed the Police Officials and escaped from police custody. A case FIR No. 41, U/S 323, 354-B IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Chandigarh who alleged thatPankaj R/o # 216, Village- Maloya, Chandigarh eve-teased complainant near her residence on 24.03.2019. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Assault
A case FIR No. 42, U/S 324 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pankaj R/o # 216, Village- Maloya, Chandigarh who alleged that one person namely Rajkumar R/o # 4153, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh stabbed complainant with knife near # 4153, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh on 24.03.2019. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Accused person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating/Forgery
A case FIR No. 76, U/S 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Neha Sharma, Branch Manager, SBI bank, SCO No. 25, Sector-41/D, Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated to complainant’s bank. The matter is of fraudulent payment of a cheque which was a forged cheque of SBI bank customer namely Shiv Kumar Kaushal. A lady had visited the branch premises on 15.05.2018 to submit a cheque for bank transfer over the counter. The account which was to be debited is a home branch account only and the cheque that was presented over the counted appeared to be genuine and thus the payment of Rs 2,10,206 was made. The customer Shiv Kumar Kaushal received an SMS on his registered mobile and he rushed to the branch for verifying the details. The fraud was detected and Rs. 1,75,000/- was recovered back from the account of the fraudster but the remaining amount of Rs. 35,206/- was removed. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 102, U/S 289 IPC has been registered in PS-3, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sanbir Singh Aulakh R/o # 537, Sector- 10/D, Chandigarh against a lady R/o Sector-10, Chandigarh whose pet dog bite to complainant’s near Sector- 3/10 dividing road, Chandigarh on 23.03.2019.
