Special drive again st consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 5 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 05 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-3= 1 case, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-Ind. Area = 1 case, PS-I.T Park = 1 case, PS-MM = 1 case, PS-MJ = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Four arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Boogli R/o # 256/1, Block-K, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh from near Sabji Mandi, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 18 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 55, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay Yadav R/o Jhuggi No. 441, Block-E, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh from near Lotus Factory, Ph-1, I/Area, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 22 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 56, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Rinku R/o # 1037, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh from near Kacha Rasta, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 16 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 89, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Narender Kumar R/o # 1976, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh near Plot No. 11, near Railway Line, Ph-2, I/Area, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 15 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 90, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Dharwinder Kumar R/o # 1306/1, Sector-30/B, Chandigarh, Sukhdev Singh R/o # 1448/24, Sector-29/B, Chandigarh, Ritesh Gupta R/o # 300/A Sec-29/A, Chandigarh and Darshan Kumar R/o # 1445/8, Sec-29/B, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Kerosene Pump Ground, Sec-29, Chandigarh on 13.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 1810/- was recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 53, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sukhwinder Singh R/o # 502, LIC Colony, Mundi Kharar, Distt Mohali, (PB), Prince R/o Village-Dolla Wal, Dargahbad, Gurdaspur, PB and Sanjay Kumar R/o # 79, Ravindra Enclave, Baltana (PB) while they were gambling near Milan Taxi Stand ground, Sector-29, Chandigarh on 13.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 670/- was recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 54, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later

Chandigarh Police arrested Ram Gopal R/o # 610, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh while playing satta near Old Wine Shop, Bhatta Colony, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 13.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 1320/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 43, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ram Gopal R/o # 610, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh while playing satta near Park near # 1717, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh on 13.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 610/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 91, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Kapil Sharma R/o # 84/1, Village-Sarangpur, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Motor Cycle No. M/Cycle No. HR35F9455 parked near Sabji Mandi, Dhanas, Chandigarh on 12.03.2019. A case FIR No. 35, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Tarun Singla R/o # 3 near Mata Mansa Devi Mandir, Dhuri Distt. Sangrur, PB reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Suzuki Access Scooter No. PB13BD3211 parked near SD College Sec-32, Chandigarh on 09.03.2019. A case FIR No. 65, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector-45/D, Chandigarh reported that two unknown person on Motor Cycle sped away after snatching mobile phone from complainant’s son at outside of her residence on 13.03.2019. A case FIR No. 64, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abduction

A person resident of Ramdarbar, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 16 years went to Govt. High School, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh from her residence on 12.03.2019 and missing since then. A case FIR No. 88, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh.  

Burglary

Rajinder Singh R/o # 153, Sector-46A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away machinery parts copper pipe, copper wire worth Rs 3,50,000/- from his factory i.e. Plot No. 54, Ph-2, I/Area on the night intervening 09/10-03-2019. A case FIR No. 93, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
