Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 02 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 02 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 02 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-17= 1 case, PS-19= 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Deepak Kumar R/o village-Addampur, Distt. Hisar, Haryana near dividing road Sector-20/21, Chandigarh and recovered 500 gram opium from his possession on 27.02.2019. A case FIR No. 24, U/S 18 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Shiv Kumar R/o # 727, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s 30 gram gold and cash Rs. 10,000/- after breaking locks from # 732, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 25.02.2019. A case FIR No. 25, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sarabjit Singh R/o Village-Rangin Shastri Nagar, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s mobile phone from Leisure valley, Sector-10, Chandigarh on 24.02.2019. A case FIR No. 70, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-40/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s mobile phone from Leisure valley, Sector-10, Chandigarh on 24.02.2019. A case FIR No. 71, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt.-Naya Shahar, Punjab harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 53, U/S 406, 498, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-7/A, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt.-Panchkula, Haryana harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 54, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

          A lady resident of Sector-38/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa scooter No. CH-03Q-1382 from parking near SCO No. 1068, Sector-22, Chandigarh on 25.02.2019. A case FIR No. 59 U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Vinod Kumar R/o # 4765, Sector-38 West, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa scooter No. CH-01AP-1047 from Sadar market, Sector-19, Chandigarh on 25.02.2019. A case FIR No. 25 U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
