30th National Road Safety Week inaugurated

Today i.e. 04.02.2019, the 30th National Road Safety Week was inaugurated by Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh at Govt. College, Sector 46, Chandigarh. During this programme, Dr. O.P. Mishra, IPS, DIG/Chandigarh, Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Smt. Nilambari Jagdale, IPS, SSP/L&O, Dr. Rosy Walia, Principle, Govt. College, Sector 46, Chandigarh, Sh. Harman Singh Sidhu, President ArriveSafe, Mr. Gaurav Kathuria, Vice President, HDFC Bank, various traffic marshals and police officers were present.  Road safety talk was delivered by the Chief Guest Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh and Dr. O.P. Mishra, IPS, DIG/Chandigarh.  Further, Road Accident Analysis Book-2019 was also released by W/DGP/Chandigarh. Sh. Harman Singh Sidhu, President ArriveSafe delivered a talk on importance of road safety. Skit on road safety titled “Chhoo Lo Asman” was also performed by Traffic Marshals.

                  The 30th National Road Safety Week-2019 are being observed from 04.02.2019 to 10.02.2019 as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India,  The theme of this Road Safety Week this year is “Sadak Suraksha-Jeevan Raksha”. During the Road Safety Week, various road safety activities such as inter school declamation contest for school students, helmet rally by female two wheeler riders, painting competition for school children, First Aid Training to the traffic and PCR, workshop for auto rickshaw drivers, blood donation camp for road accident victims and free health checkup camp will be organized to raise the level of road safety awareness among the general public.
