Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 03 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 03 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 03 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public  place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-19= 1 case, PS-IT Park = 1 case, PS-49= 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS

          Chandigarh Police arrested Sourab R/o # 166, Upper Mohalla,Kalka, Distt.-Panchkula, Haryana near Shastri Nagar Light Point, Chandigarh and recovered 20 gram heroin from his possession on 12.01.2019. A case FIR No. 12, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

A case FIR No. 03, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of SI. Ranjit Singh of Traffic Staff against Manminder Singh R/o Village-Dharamgarh, PS-Almoh, Distt.-Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab who was caught on drunken naka near sector 46/47/48/49 light point while illegally possessing 132 bottles of Whisky and 24 bottles of beer in white Maruti Car  No. PB-48D-4017 on 11.01.2019. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 16, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against Mahboob Khan R/o # 269, Sector-78, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab who did not give servant information to local police at SCO No.28-30, Sector-9/D, Chandigarh and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out.

Missing/abducted

          A person resident of Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person abducted his daughter age about 14 years from near his residence on 05.01.2019. A case FIR No. 09, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

           A lady resident of Sector-12, Chandigarh alleged that Goldie R/o Distt.-Patiala, Punjab abducted his daughter age about 17 years from near her residence on 06.01.2018. A case FIR No. 20, U/S 363, 366 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

          A lady resident of Sector-12, Chandigarh reported that unknown girl stolen away complainant’s bag containing Cash Rs. 20,000, 02 diamond rings, 01 diamond bracelet, 01 diamond pendent and 01 small valet from Social Club, Sector-07, Chandigarh on 12.01.2019. A case FIR No. 14, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Forgery

A case FIR No. 11, U/S 465, 467 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of SI. Tulsi Ram, I/C Fro Branch against Mr. Festus Benson Onwuchuruba, R/o # 86, Robotsun Avenue, Distt Town Bujumbura, Republic of Berundi, Nigeria who is undergoing sentence in Burail Jail, Chandigarh in NDPS Case. The passport was recovered from his possession by the NCB Authority, which was handed over to FRO Branch by the NCB, CZU, Chandigarh and during verification, the same has been found fake. He presented his fake Berundi passport to NCB, Chandigarh.  After taking legal opinion the above said FIR has been registered against him. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Raman R/o # 1633, Adarsh Nagar, Village-Naya Gaon, Chandigarh reported that 02 unknown persons occupant of white activa scooter took mobile phone from complainant for making an urgent phone call but they sped away after taking mobile phone on activa scooter by cheating near sector-20/21 dividing road, Chandigarh on 12.01.2019. A case FIR No. 07, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
