PU Library workshop concludes

                Five days workshop on “Creation and Management of
Digital Libraries Using Open Source Software” organized by A.C. Joshi
Library, Panjab University  in collaboration with INFLIBNET from 7-11
January, 2019, concluded, here today.

                Prof Shankar Ji Jha, Dean University Instruction and
officiating Vice Chancellor in his inaugural address, emphasized that
recorded human knowledge is key to development which is reposited in
the libraries and also, in this digital world library professionals
should come up with innovative ideas to disseminate the knowledge to
the society.

                While delivering the valedictory address Professor
Karamjeet, Registrar, PU, said that libraries are the lamp for the
educational society.

                Professor Rajesh Gill, President, PUTA spoke that
there is a huge responsibility on libraries to provide authentic
information.

                Dr Rashmi Yadav, University Librarian informed that
the workshop was attended by 38 delegates and few research scholars
from various part of India – Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana,
Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar.

                All the participants received the Certificates for
successful completion of the workshop.
