Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 03 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 03 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 03 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS- 17= 1 case, PS-Mouli Jagran = 1 case, PS-I.T Park= 1 case. 

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Chander Parkash R/o # 677, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh and Sikander R/o # 908, Jagatpur Colony, Distt. Mohali, Punjab while they were playing satta of cock fight near Saleem Kabadi Shop near Railway Line, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 23.12.2018. Total cash Rs. 6,000/- and 2 cocks were recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 310, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act and 11-N Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act 1960 has been registered in PS-I.T. Park, Chandigarh. Later they released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Burglary

Sh. Satnam Singh R/o # 2531, Sector-22/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away gas cylinder, laptop, some cash and some documents after breaking locks from complainant’s residence on 21.12.2018. A case FIR No. 391, U/S 454, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A lady resident of Sector-05, Panchkula, Haryana reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s purse containing I-Card of Bar Counsel of Punjab & Haryana, driving license, Prosecutor Department I-Card, ATM Card, Pan Card, cash Rs. 1500/-, gold chain and some documents from market, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 23.12.2018. A case FIR No. 470, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector-50/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person occupant of activa scooter sped away after snatched complainant’s hand bag containing cash Rs. 1500/-, ID card of school, keys and assignments near Dividing Road, Sector 32/46, Chandigarh on 23.12.2018. A case FIR No. 439, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Fetus found

A case FIR No. 305 U/S 318 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh against unknown person who left about 5 months fetus at ground near Community Centre, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 23.12.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.
