Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 08 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 08 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 09 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17 = 1 case, PS-19 = 2 cases, PS-26 = 2 cases, PS-IT Park = 3 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Jaswant Singh R/o # 2525/B, Sector-47, Chandigarh, Subash Chander R/o #2852/2, Sector-47, Chandigarh, Shera R/o # 2338, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh and Hem Raj R/o # 2901, Sector-47, Chandigarh while they were gambling at Park, Sector-47, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 6320/- from their possession. A case FIR No. 256, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. All later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ram Das R/o # 2044, NIC, Mani Majra Chandigarh, while he was playing satta near Kheda Mandir NIC Mani Majra, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 1255/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 156, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Parveen Kumar R/o # 1090, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh, while he was playing satta near Govt. Model School, Kishangarh, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 970/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 158, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Eve-teasing

A case FIR No. 176, U/S 354 IPC & 10 POCSO Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh against Pinkal Saroj R/o Swimming Pool, Sector-29, Chandigarh who eve-teased a girl at Swimming Pool, Sector 29, Chandigarh on 10.06.2018. Alleged has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Prevention of Immoral Trafficking

Chandigarh Police arrested Mehboob Khan R/o # 2407/B, Sector-70, Mohali (PB) and Swami Parshad @ Samir R/o Mohalla Ambika Vihar Kharar Distt. Mohali (PB) from SCO No. 45, 1st Floor, NAC, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 11.06.2018. A case FIR No. 265, U/S 3, 4, 5, 5(A), 7 Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956 has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Burglary

Sh. Sukhpal Singh R/o # 964, Mohalla Bhara Mall Khu, Mani Majra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away purse containing cash Rs. 200/- and some important documents from his house on 11.06.2018. A case FIR No. 266, U/S 454, 380IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Later one person namely Mukesh R/o Shesham Wali Gali, Mauli complex, Chandigarh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector 8, Chandigarh alleged that two unknown persons on Activa Scooter snatched away her purse containing cash Rs. 2000/-, mobile phone and some documents near her residence on 11.06.2018. A case FIR No. 125, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 63, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person snatched away gold chain from complainant near Block No. 6, Sector 63, Chandigarh on 11.06.2018. A case FIR No. 114, U/S 356, 379, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh.Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A girl resident of Sector-35, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away two bicycles from near railing, Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh on 08.06.2018. A case FIR No. 126, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Sohanbir R/o # 4879/2, Sector-38/West, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Activa Scooter No. CH-0BL-5642 while parked near Petrol Pump, Sector-22/C, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 190, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Mukesh Kumar R/o # 3045, Sector-37, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away car No. PB-65Z-7740 while parked near Jawala Mata Mandir, Sector-45, Chandigarh on night intervening 09/10-06-2018. A case FIR No. 222, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chamoli Uttrakhand alleged that two unknown persons cheated cash Rs. 34,000/- from complainant near Outer Gate, ISBT-17, Chandigarh on 10.06.2018. Sh. Kuldeep Singh R/o # 1509/A, Sector-30/B, Chandigarh alleged that Ajit Singh R/o # 108, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh cheated cash Rs. 2,000/- from complainant regarding providing street vendor license. A case FIR No. 177, U/S 420, 465, 468 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 158, U/S 147, 149, 323, 341, 342, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh on the complaint of Jasbir Singh R/o VPO Village, P.S. Chandi Mandir, Distt. Panchkula (HR) who alleged that unknown person’sbeaten/threatened complainant near wine shop, Dhanas, Chandigarh on 11.06.2018.
