Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 06 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 06 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-Sarangpur = 2 cases, PS-MJ = 2 cases, PS-39 = 2 cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against 02 workers of 02 dhabas who were serving liquor to these persons openly were also charged under relevant sections of IPC. 02 cars in which the persons drinking liquor were taken into police possession.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Daddu Majra Colony, Chandigarh near Sansi Mohalla Park, DMC, Chandigarh and recovered 45 grams Heroin & 5 injections of Bupreorphine and 5 injections of Pheniramine Meleate drugs from her possession on 07-12-2018. A case FIR No. 236, U/S 21, 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 238, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against 1) Avinash Kumar R/o # 2207, sec-45/A, Chandigarh 2) Onkar Singh r/o # 28/16, vill-Kajheri, Chandigarh 3) Kuldeep Singh r/o Colony Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh 4) PD Tewari r/o Colony Khuda Ali Sher Chd, 5) Joginder Singh r/o # 1282, Sec-52, Chandigarh 6) Kamal Kishore r/o # 2207, Sec-45/C Chandigarh 7) Anil Kumar r/o # 2324, Mauli Complex Chandigarh 8) Lalit r/o Colony Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh 09) Gurdeyal r/o # 90, Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh while they were protesting at U.T Secretariat, Sec-9, Chandigarh on 07-12-2018. All were arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 457, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh against Kamal Kumar R/o # 1322, Churi Wala Mohalla, Manimajra, Chandigarh who did not give information of tenant and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 458, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh against Chaman Lal R/o # 1322, Churi Wala Mohalla, Manimajra, Chandigarh who did not give information of tenant and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 347, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Jagdish R/o # 3085, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh who did not give information of tenant and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 456 U/S 279, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh on the complaint of Satish Kumar R/o # 2162/4, PWT, Manimajra, Chandigarh against driver of Motor Cycle No. HR-03K-4828 namely Kapil Thakur R/o Village-Jaihar, Tehsil-Pachhad, Distt.-Sirmour, HP who hit to complainant’s Grand Father namely Khushi Ram (pedestrian) near SBI Atm, Pipli Wala Town, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 07-12-2018. Khushi Ram got injured and admitted in Civil Hospital, Manimajra, Chandigarh where he expired later and motor cycle driver namely Kapil Thakur got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Sector-20/A, Chandigarh alleged that her husband and others resident of Meerut, UP harassed & beaten complainant’s to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 92, U/S 406, 498-A, 323 IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Phase-I, Industrial Area, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Sector-26, Chandigarh harassed complainant’s to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 93, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Phase-II, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Distt.-Kapurthala, Punjab harassed complainant’s to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 94, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Theft

Parkash Podar R/o # 325/1, Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s bag containing 1 tab, 1 Aadhar Card, Cash Rs.4,000/- from his residence on 07-12-2018. A case FIR No. 299, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Amit R/o # 803, Village- Burail, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person stolen away 02 pair silver anklets, 04 silver toe rings, 01 ladies watch, 01 gents watch, 01 silver set and cash Rs. 15,000/- from complainant’s residence on 30-11-2018.A case FIR No. 426, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
