Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 07 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 07 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-MJ= 2 cases, PS-49= 1 case, PS-39 = 3 cases, PS-Maloya= 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 233, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against Sumesh Gagneja R/o # 156, Sector-9/C, Chandigarh, owner of Pipe and Barrel Cafe Bar Sector-9, Chandigarh regarding running of said café bar till late night at Pipe and Barrel Cafe Bar on 02.12.2018 and disobeying the orders duly promulgated by public servant. He was arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 434, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Jatin Virk, Kind Cross Club, Manager, Altius Hotel, I/Area, Ph-2, Chandigarh regarding running of DJ till late night on 02.12.2018 at Altius Hotel, I/Area, Ph-2, Chandigarh and disobeying the orders duly promulgated by public servant. He was arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 Attempt to murder

       A case FIR No. 344, U/S 307 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh.  Sanjay R/o Jhuggi No. 111, DBC, Sec-25, Chandigarh who alleged that a person namely Sunil Kumar R/o Jhuggi No. 597, DBC, Sec 25, Chandigarh attacked on complainant’s son Lokender with rod and also hit to complainant near his residence on 18.11.2018. Both were got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Alleged person Sanjay has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/Assault

       Sh.  Parveen Kumar R/o Gurkut Vastu, P.S. Kalinga, Gulmi Nepal alleged that a person namely kala attacked on complainant and his friend Sarwan with sharp weapon near SCO NO. 1031, Sector 22/B, Chandigarh on 01.12.2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. In this regard, a case FIR No. 369, U/S 323, 326 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Later Dalip @ Kallu R/o # 1981 EWS Colony Dhanas, Chandigarh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
