Four arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Three different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-17, Mauli Jagran & 39, Chandigarh against four persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. Later they bailed out.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illicit liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Subhash R/o # 9, Hallomajra, Chandigarh who was arrested at Hallomajra, Chandigarh while possessing 16 quarters of country liquor. A case FIR No. 429, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31 Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft by Cheating

        A lady resident of Sector 35, Chandigarh alleged that 2 unknown ladies and one another person in car given lift to complainant near Civil Dispensary, Sector 34, Chandigarh to Piccadilly Theatre, Sector 34, Chandigarh on 23.11.2018 and they stolen away her gold bangles by cheating. A case FIR No. 412, U/S 420, 379, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

        Sh. Rahul Nagpal R/o # 870/1, Sector-41/A, Chandigarh alleged that 2 unknown boys on Activa Scooter snatched away his mobile phone near dividing road, Sector 37/41, Chandigarh on 23.11.2018. A case FIR No. 445, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
