Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total06 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 06 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 07 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-03= 2 cases, PS-17= 1 case, PS-I.T Park= 2 cases, PS-39= 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Kuldeep Singh @ Deep R/o # 2193/9, PWT, Manimajra, Chandigarh from T-Point, backside CTU Workshop, ISBT-43, Chandigarh and recovered 16 Injections of Buprenorphine and Pheniramine Maleate drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 440, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for escaping from confinement/custody

A case FIR No. 406, U/S 223, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mewa Singh, Reader to Sh. Jaspreet Singh JMIC, Court No. 27, Chandigarh in which he stated that accused Gaurav @ Gora R/o H No 920, PH-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh has surrendered before the hon’ble court in Case FIR No. 14 dt. 12.1.17 u/s 394,341,506,411,34,427 IPC PS 31, Chd. As per order of hon’ble court he was taken in the custody by the naib court. Thereafter, the accused clandestinely escaped and ran away from the court room. The naib court and other police officials ran behind him and apprehended him Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Gulshan Kumar Vohra R/o SCO No. 19-20, Sector-19/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bolero Pick up No. PB08 CP 7520 while parked near said SCO. A case FIR No. 319, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Ram Chander R/o # 775, Mohalla Thakur Dwara, MM, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Santro car No. CH03 9746 while parked near Gate No. 3, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 439, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 290, U/S 279, 337, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh on the statement ofDeepak Garg R/o # 55, Hem Vihar, Ph-1, Baltana, Zirakpur, Distt. Mohali (PB) against driver of Govt. Vehicle Bolero No. HR-03K-2104 namely Wankher E.R.G. R/o CISF Unit, PB & HYA Secretariat, Sector-1, Chandigarh who hit to a cyclist near Railway Light Point, Chandigarh on 17.11.2018. Cyclist namely Nanhke R/o near Shiv Mandir, Village Kansal, Distt. Mohali (PB) age about 43 years got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh, where he expired during treatment. Alleged person arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 356, U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint ofAswathy V.S., Sr. Deputy Accountant General (Admn.), Office Of Audit Accountant General Punjab, Plot No. 21 Sec-17, Chandigarh against Dev Saini R/o # 3151, Sector-28/D, Chandigarh who was selected as Auditor under sports recruitment quota and was offered appointment after necessary formalities. He joined office on 23.04.2015 and submitted provisional certificate of Bachelor of Arts issued by Shridhar University, Pilani, Rajasthan. The said university was written and requested to verify the authenticity of mark sheet, in response to which University informed that candidate is not a student of Shridhar University. Thereafter Department terminated the services of Dev Saini w.e.f. 14.08.2017. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Criminal Breach of Trust

A case FIR No. 333, U/S 407 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Karan Pahwa, Manager, Avon Rims Pvt. Limited, Plot No. 69, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh who alleged that Dinesh Kumar, partner of Kush Transport Company, Railway Station Road, Village Dariya, Chandigarh and Partap & Vikas (drivers) loaded 425 bundles containing 4688 pcs of rims worth of value of Rs.13,33,577 in their vehicles No. HR67A7695 & HR-63-C-7747 to deliver goods at Patna, Bihar. Further, they received Rs.58,500/- as freight charges from complainant’s company to deliver these goods. That after taking delivery and Rs.58,500/- from applicant the alleged persons disappeared and hidden themselves. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of PWT, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that on 01.08.2018, she was transferring Rs. 90,000/- through NEFT from her husband’s account to some other account. But due to some mistake she transferred the amount to the wrong account of one person Bijender Singh R/o Village Nimli, Distt. Bhiwani, (HR). After enquiring from bank she made a call to Bijender Singh who assured complainant to refund the amount. But later the alleged person refused to refund the amount to the complainant. A case FIR No. 438, U/S 406 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
