Chandigarh. February 4, 2026
The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Panjab University (PU), organised its Annual Sports Meet 2026. More than 150 students participated in the sports meet, which was aimed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being and holistic development among students.
The Sports Meet was inaugurated by the PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Noted Hockey Player and Senior Manager (Retail Sales), Chandigarh Divisional Office, Indian Oil Corporation Limited Mr Inderjeet Chadha attended the meet as a distinguished guest and encouraged students to pursue excellence in sports alongside academics.
The prize distribution ceremony was held in the presence of PU Dean University Instruction (DUI), Prof Yojna Rawat and Director CDOE Prof Harsh Gandhar, Director, CDOE. They highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork and overall personality development.
Winners were felicitated by the dignitaries, including Prof Namita Gupta, DSW (Women), Dr Parveen Goyal, NSS Coordinator, and Prof Madhurima Verma, Dean, Faculty of Arts. Medals and certificates were awarded.
The Sports Meet was coordinated by Dr Anil Kumar, Convener, Sports Meet, with active support from Dr Sucha Singh, Co-convener.
