The Department of Botany DAV College Sector 10 successfully organized an intra-college hands-on workshop and two unique painting competitions, blending science with creativity. The event was graced by Principal Dr. Jyotirmaya Khatri, Resource Person Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Faculty Department of Botany PU Chandigarh, faculty members of various departments and enthusiastic students.
The Pine Cone Painting competition encouraged students to explore the structure of Pine cones while fostering patience and mindfulness. The Stone Painting competition allowed participants to express emotions and creativity through intricate designs, with themes ranging from spirituality to nature’s beauty.
Dr. Jaspreet conducted workshop on creative wellness using leaf imprinting and introduced a Japanese-inspired approach ikagai for calming the mind through art. More than sixty students participated in various events. Dr Ranju Gulati Head Botany Department emphasized the ‘Four Ps’—Patience, Peace, Passion, and Purpose—while reinforcing the importance of Prakriti Sanrakshan (Nature Conservation) which happened to be theme of competitions. Dr Khatri Principal Narang appreciated the role of such events in overall personality development of students and also lauded the efforts of department in inspiring students via such activities which are blend of learning and artistry.
