Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 04 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 04 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-31 = 2 cases, PS-49 = 1 case, PS-Maloya = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay R/o # 432, Ph-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, Santosh R/o # 1151, Ph-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, Rakesh R/o # 1864, Ph-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, Sulinder R/o # 446, Ph-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Plot No.821, Ph-2, Industrial Area, Chandigarh on 17.10.2018. Total cash Rs. 18,990/- was recovered from their possession. A case FIR No. 397, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later they bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Lalit Kumar Mandal R/o # 1219, Sec-45, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near Sector-44/45, light point, Chandigarh on 17.10.2018. Total cash Rs. 400/- was recovered from their possession. A case FIR No. 376, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

A case FIR No. 377, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh against Suraj Verma R/o # 1562/A, Small Flats, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh who was arrested near Labour Chowk, Sector-44 side and recovered 5 boxes of country made liquor from his possession. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Kamludeen R/o # 355, Samadhi Gate, Manimajra, Chandigarh near Shivalik Garden, Manimajra, Chandigarh and recovered 73 GM Opium from his possession. A case FIR No. 423, U/S 18 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Deepak R/o # 7, Dashmesh Nagar, Nayagaon, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away 5 batteries from ICICI Bank ATM, Sector-19, Chandigarh on the night intervening 16/17.10.2018. A case FIR No. 299, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Dr. Seema Vasihist R/o # 5469, MHC, Mani Majra, Chandigarh alleged that Neethirajan M. R/o # 2767 Sec-61 Ph-7 Mohali (PB) was living as a tenant at first floor of her house. On 8.07.2018 he stolen complainant’s ATM card from her car and later alleged person withdrawn Rs. 3,80,000/- from her account by deactivating mobile number and regenerating new pin of ATM between 9.07.2018 to 15.07.2018. A case FIR No. 422, U/S 420, 379, 120B IPC & 66/C IT Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
