In a momentous occasion for the accounting fraternity, 409 newly qualified Chartered Accountants (CAs) from upper north region were conferred with their degrees at a convocation ceremony organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at Indradhanush Auditorium on Friday. The event was presided over by CA Abhishek Singh Chauhan, Chairman ICAI Chandigarh Branch in the presence of governing council members, senior professionals, and proud parents.
Addressing the gathering, CA Chauhan emphasized the importance of innovation in the field of accountancy, underscoring its role in driving national prosperity. He encouraged the young professionals to remain diligent, ethical, and dedicated as they step into their careers, particularly in taxation and financial management.
Adding to the significance of the event, CA Atul Gupta, Past President of ICAI, highlighted ICAI’s stature as the world’s largest professional body for Chartered Accountants, established by an Act of Parliament. He described the CA profession as the “mother of all professions,” which is playing a pivotal role in shaping the economic framework of the nation. He urged the graduates to uphold integrity and professionalism while contributing to India’s financial growth.
The ceremony also featured inspiring addresses by Central Council Member and Convocation Coordinator Raj Chawla, NIRC Member Shalini Gupta, and other senior Chartered Accountants, who extended their best wishes to the newly minted professionals, encouraging them to excel in their endeavors and make meaningful contributions to the field of finance.
