“UILS Induction Programme 2024-25 : Day two

The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) continued its Induction Programme for the academic year 2024-25 on Day two, held at the Moot Court Hall of UILS.
Prof. Shruti Bedi, highly esteemed director UILS delivered her opening speech about “Career in Law” and ensured the weightage of pursuing a career in law and the many more opportunities available to law graduates.
It was successfully followed by a diligent speaker of the morning session Prof. Chanchal Narang discussed with first year students the “Importance of Language for Legal Profession” from highlighting the crucial role of language and communication skills in the legal profession.
Thereafter, Prof. Sarabjit Kaur addressed the students regarding “Transition from School to University: An Insight” from offering valuable advice on adapting to university life.
Valuable insights into India’s history and culture, shared by Prof. Meenu Sahajpal under the title “India: The Story and the Reality.”
In the second half of the event , Dr. Sunil Panghal delivered a special lecture on “STD: An Overview” covering the basics of STD and its significance in the legal context too.
Subsequently Prof. Harsh Gandhar explored the “Relevance of Economics Discipline for Law Students” highlighting the intersection of Economics and law.
After a short break, Prof. Jai Mala Narotra showcased her extensive knowledge on “Social Media and Legal Education: An Overview” examining the impact of social media on legal education.
The session was concluded with an enlightening oration by Prof. Karan Jawanda spoke on the “Importance and Role of Legal Aid Clinics in Law Schools” , emphasizing practical legal training and the role of legal aid clinics.
The students actively participated in the question answer round. The faculty members provided valuable insights and guidance, setting a constructive tone for a successful academic year 2024.”
