Police stop illegal construction of Aero Plaza, Aerocity Mohali

Demokratic Front, Mohali – April 21  :

Despite the stay order of the court, construction, and excavation work is going on at the disputed site, for which the complainant had lodged a Contempt Case with the Court Of Derabassi. The Court directed the Sho concerned to implement the stay order  on site and report. The investigation officer with his team reached the site and stopped the construction work and had reported in the court that the builders have carried out work on disputed land despite court orders. Therefore required action shall be taken against Sanjeev Mittal and his firm should be liable for punishment .It is noteworthy that the Derabassi court issued a stay order on February 7, 2023, after receiving a complaint of fraud against the promoter of the project, Sanjeev Mittal, owner of M/s Shudh Gold.

According to the complainant, a partnership firm represented by Shudh Gold, Sanjeev Mittal, and others had auctioned 5 acres of a commercial site, Block G (which is being promoted as Aero Plaza) in Aerocity Mohali. In this, Mittal had made an agreement with the complainant to give a 10% share, but when Mittal’s company Shuddh Gold was allotted from Gamada, he refused to give the agreed share. Because of this, he had to go to court. According to the complainant, he has deposited Rs 2.37 crore in the account of Sanjeev Mittal’s company Shuddh Gold and Twenty One Century Pvt Ltd through RTGS and DD, which were given to GMADA by Sanjeev Mittal.

GMADA has replied in court that the building plan is under consideration, which has not yet been passed. However, the firm has already started construction on the site, excavated about 20 feet below, and started the work of making the basement by using iron rods.

The work on site has stopped since the development and police report. Since then many people have gathered outside Company office and started demanding their money back as the project hung in balance till any further development.
