Today St. John’s High School reached another milestone in its ecological journey

Chandigarh:

A  waste paper recycling plant was set up in the school to process waste paper into recycled sheets which will then be beautified and used for various projects. In the near future, this will serve as a small entrepreneurial venture for students of senior classes. The involvement of students in this project will provide them an insight into working in a professional environment and making the best out of it. This project will not only teach them to earn revenue but will provide them an opportunity to give back to society.

This vision is supported by Silver Fern education Consultants, a venture by one of our old boys.

Present on this occasion was a young climate warrior, Aarna Srivastav, who was recently awarded ‘Mahila Vishisht Ratna Samman 2022’ by Smt. Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Women and Child Development of India. She presented the Principal , Mrs. Kavita C Das,  with a pair of recycled shoes which she designed with non biodegradable waste, like discarded plastic bottles and old tyres.

On this momentous occasion the Principal, Mrs Kavita C Das said, “It is the young ones who are our tomorrow. It is so heartening to see someone like Aarna fighting for the environment and her generation’s future. I am very proud of the fact that we are both from the same school!”.
