                     Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana, Sh. Manoj Yadava today released the Haryana Police Journal-2020 (Vol.3) in the presence of senior police officers and subject experts at Police headquarters.

          Appreciating the efforts of all members of the editorial and advisory board of the journal, the DGP said that various topics of the journal were enlightening and a source of information for the readers as well as the researchers in policing across the country. It has direct connection in day-to-day events in the policing and criminal justice system.

           “Being patron of the Haryana Police Journal, I am delighted that someone which was launched three years back, sustained and continued.” The first volume of the HPJ was launched in 2018 followed by Vol.2 in 2019.

          Congratulating the IGP, Dr. Hanif Qureshi for coming out with this publication, the DGP said that this is a unique initiative which would further enrich the subjects related to police services, besides connecting police leaders, researchers, analysts and planners. The important topics documented in the journal would herald a new era in the criminal justice system and new scientific approach to age old problems of policing in India.

           Speaking on the occasion, IGP and Editor of the journal Dr. Hanif Qureshi informed that Haryana Police has been publishing its journal on the pattern of Indian Police Journal since 2018. The objective of publication is compilation of good police practices that can be shared for the knowledge and benefit of all. All research articles compiled by policing practitioners, academic researchers, judicial officers, lawyers, students and citizens had undergone peer review by anonymous experts.

          The silent features of the journal are critical analysis and commentary on topics ranging from current law enforcement policies, police issues, police investigations, accountability, human rights and related criminal justice issues.  It also draws on examples of good practice from Haryana and all over the country and examines current academic research and its application to the improvement of policing in India.

          The event was attended by the ADGP Modernisation and Welfare Sh. Alok Kumar Roy, ADGP Admin & IT Sh. A.S. Chawla, ADGP Law and Order, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, ADGP CAW Smt. Kala Ramchandran, IGP Law and Order, Sh. Rakesh Arya and other senior Police Officers, while Judicial Magistrate, Punjab Smt. Aashia Jindal, ADJ Sonipat Dr. Parminder Kaur and Director, Centre for Mental Health, Delhi, Dr. Sarika Boora attended through virtual conference.
