One arrested for possessing illicit liquor

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Bharat Kumar R/o # 2025, Sector-21, Chandigarh (aged 25 years) and recovered 25 boxes (12 bottles each box) of Royal Stag English Wine from his bolero pickup No. CH01TB 0865, near Kishangarh chowk on 20.11.2020. A case FIR No. 203, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-IT park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Operation cell of Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Delhi, (age 40 years) from near furniture market, Sec-54 on 20.11.2020 and recovered 200 gram heroin from her possession. A case FIR No. 364 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sushil R/o # 3300, Uraban Estate, Sector-11, Jind (HR) (age 25 years) from near Sec-40 C/D turn on 20.11.2020 and recovered total 55 injections (23 injections of Buprenorphine and 32 injections of Pheniramine maleate) from his possession. A case FIR No. 365 U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 366, U/S 406, 420 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Radha Krishan R/o # 28, Sector 41, Chandigarh against Happy @ Vikash Sethi R/o # 3087, Sector 37, Chandigarh who cheated complainant for Rs. 3, 70, 000/- in the year 2018, In pretext to provide him visa for Cyprus Country. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 216, U/S 120-B, 419, 420 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated Rs. 1 lac on 24.09.2020 by transacting fraudulently from her credit card on flipcart.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 103, U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-3, Chandigarh on the complaint of Harjap Singh R/o Village Lohgarh, The Dharamkot, Distt. Moga, PB, against Gurminder Singh and his wife both resident of Chandigarh cheated complainant Rs. 7, 50,000/- for providing him study VISA for Australia in April 2016. But they neither provided VISA nor returned his money.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested in theft case

Manjit Singh, Superintendent of Psychology Department, PU, Sector-14, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away 48 chairs from Psychology department, PU, Sector-14, Chandigarh by breaking the locks of door from 1.11.2020 to 03.11.2020. A case FIR No. 137, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later alleged namely Sarafraj R/o # 12, Ward No. 14, Baltana, arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sunil Bansal r/o # 170, Sector 18, Chandigarh reported that unknown person who stole two mobile phones and motorcycle No. CH01BJ3169 from # 1297, Sector 18 on the night intervening 17/18.11.2020. A case FIR No. 88, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
