Chd. Police arrested 1 with 23 injections of banned drug

On 16.09.2019, Chandigarh Police achieved a major success when police team of Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh arrested one Yashpal and 23 injections out of which, 10 Injections of Pheniramine Melate 10 ML each & 13 injections of Buprenorphine 2 ML each without Permit/Licence. 

MODUS OPEREDI  :

During interrogation, it emerged that the accused committed the crime to fulfill his needs of drugs as he is habitual drug addict and whenever he need drug, he used to do petty crime. The following case has been registered against him.

FIR No. 311 dated 16.09.2019 U/S 22 NDPS Act, PS-39, Chandigarh.

Brief Facts :  SI Manjit Singh No. 920/CHG Police Post-Palsora Sector-56, Chandigarh reported that on 16.09.2019 at about 6.05 PM, while he along with Police Party were on patrolling duty Near Bus Stop, Sector-56 Side, Chandigarh in view of curve the theft and snatching incidents in the city, he nabbed one Yashpal S/o Shri Desh Raj, R/o #5584/A, Sector-56, Chandigarh, Age-31 years.   While he was carrying 23 injections out of which, 10 Injections of Pheniramine Melate 10 ML each & 13 injections of Buprenorphine 2 ML each without Permit/Licence.  Accused arrested on the spot            . 

Accused Profile :

  • Yashpal S/o Shri Desh Raj, R/o #5584/A, Sector-56, Chandigarh, Age-31 years, Qualification-10+2, Occupation-Working in Immigration, , Marital Status-Married and having 1 Male Child, Habit-Drug Addict.

Previous History :

  • FIR No. 41 dated 04.02.2007 U/s 302, 307, 34 IPC PS-39, Chandigarh. He has been awarded Life time imprisonment by the Hon’ble Court of Shri RS Attri on 19.11.2009.  Presently, he is on bail from Hon’ble High Court.
  • FIR No. 166 dated 14.07.2013 U/s 21 NDPS Act, PS-39, Chandigarh. He has been convicted from the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Shalini Singh Nagpal (Convicted 6 Months RI).
  • FIR No. 72 dated 23.03.2016 dated 376, 506 IPC PS-39, Chandigarh. 
  • DDR No. 7 dated 05.12.2015 U/s 107/501 Cr.P.C. PS-26, Chandigarh.

Special Drive against obstruction at public places:-

          A special checking drive was carried out at different parts of the city to check on obstructions at public places and at public way. In this regard, yesterday 16.09.2019, Chandigarh police registered total 48 cases in different police stations of city and 48 persons were arrested who were found obstructing public way with rehri /fari. All later bailed out. The details of police Stations in which cases U/S 283 IPC were got registered are :- PS-03 = 04 cases, PS-11=04 cases, PS-17=03 cases, PS-Sarangpur=01 case, PS-19= 02 cases, PS-26=03 cases, PS-IA=8 cases, PS-MM=05 cases, PS-MJ=04 cases, PS-IT Park=02 cases, PS-49=01 case, PS-31=02 cases, PS-34=03 cases, PS-36=04 cases, PS-39=01 case, PS-Maloya=01 case.

          This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

A case FIR No. 284, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajinder Parsad, Driver CTU, Chandigarh who alleged that one passenger namely Sher Singh R/o Kandia Malla, Rikhnikhal, Pauri Garhwal, (UK) carrying bag containing illegal liquor 19 bottles of Royal Stag in CTU bus No. CH01GA9969 near Counter No. 8, ISBT, Sector-17, Chandigarh on 16.09.2019. Alleged person arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

          Chandigarh Police arrested Mahender Pal R/o # 718, Sector-25, Chandigarh, while playing satta near backside Masjid, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh on 16.09.2019. Total cash Rs. 1290/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 153, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

 Sharad Kumar R/o # 2, Sunny Vihar, Phabat, Zirakpur, (PB) reported that he is working as cameraperson and on 07.09.2019 he came to H.No. 140, Haryana Congress Bhawan, Sector 9, Chandigarh for coverage but some unknown person stolen away his Camera Stand. A case FIR No. 253, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft       

Pankah Yadav R/o # 219/C, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s M/Cycle No. CH01BE3141 parked near his residence on 15-09-2019. A case FIR No. 132, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Manohar Singh R/o # 3351/1, Sector-35D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Zen car No. CH03X-8199 parked near his house on night intervening 12/13-09-2019. A case FIR No. 189, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Gurdayal Kaur R/o # 2158, Sec-21C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person called on his landline phone and told himself from bank and asked for some documents. He later sent a person namely Rahul who collected 4 cheques of State bank of India and pass book from complainant. Later transaction of Rs. 45,000/- and 35,000/- was done from complainant’s bank account. A case FIR No. 117, U/S 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested in Theft case

Akeel Kureshi R/o Shop No. 27, Grain Market, Sector-26, Chandigarh alleged that Raju R/o # 1206, Dhanas, Chandigarh was caught red handed while he was stealing complainant’s phone from said shop on night intervening 15/16.09.2019. A case FIR No. 220, U/S 380, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/Assault

Mohammad Furman R/o # 1119, Gobind Pura, Manimajra, Chandigarh alleged that landlord lady namely Affroza Parveen R/o # 1119, Gobind Pura, Manimajra, Chandigarh, locked complainant and his son in room and also manhandled & threatened complainant on 16-09-2019 at residence. A case FIR No. 146, U/S 323, 341, 342, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Alleged person arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Act & Prevention to Damage Public Property Act

A case FIR No. 231, U/S 122/127 Motor Vehicle Act 1988 & 3 of the prevention of damage public property act 1984 has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of ASI Fakir Chand, Traffic Staff who reported that a Chevrolet Sail Car No. CH01AX8812 was clamped by traffic staff for wrong parking near SCO No. 121, Sector 34, Chandigarh on 16.09.2019. The driver Gaurav Verma R/o # 2126, PWT, Manimajra, Chandigarh damaged the clamp by forcefully removing it. Alleged person arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A case FIR No. 235, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector 34, Chandigarh who reported that unknown motor cycle rider snatched away complainant’s hand bag containing mobile phone, credit cards, keys, silver chain and cash Rs. 11,500/- near H.No. 1593, Sector 34, Chandigarh on 16.09.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Juvenile Justice Act

A person resident of DMC, Chandigarh alleged that his brother and sister-in-law both R/o # 465/1, DMC, Chandigarh beating and ill treating their son age about 14 years (complainant’s nephew). A case FIR No. 152, U/S 75 JJ Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

STM Program for NTU and PU students commences at PU

            The delegation of students from Nottingham Trent University, UK are visiting Panjab University for a 10 day Short Term Mobility (STM) Program being organised by the Dean International Students, Panjab University in collaboration with ISSER, PU.

            The delegation today interacted with Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, PU. Prof Kumar who had recently visited NTU Campus  remarked that  he is quite impressed with the activities of NTU students and would like to open doors of PU to more such participants from UK in times to come so that theyare also acquainted with rich and vibrant heritage of our country and our PU campus.

            These students are from diverse academic backgrounds like Banking, Law, Finance, Fashion  Technology and belong to different nationalities like British, African and Indian. The ten day program will focus on India and specially Punjab and its art, culture, heritage besides sessions on Role of Media, Democracy, Governance, Innovation, Technology and Social work.  In today’s globalized world such interactions are being a significant part of
the learning process.

            The first day of the program started with a session on ‘The Story of Indian
Democracy’ by Mr. Vikram Singh, Deputy Secretary, Controller of Administration, CSIR, IMTECH, which was followed by a session on Role of Media in Indian Democracy by Mr. Jyoti Kamal, Cluster Head and Executive Editor, CNN News18.Thereafter, the students were taken for a visit to City NGO ALA.

Centre for Human Rights and Duties Organized Sports Meet – 2019 for Differently abled Children on the theme “Sankalp Samavesh Ka”

A Pledge for Inclusion

            The Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a Sports Meet, here today on the theme ‘Sankalp Samaavesh Ka’ (A Pledge for Inclusion).

            Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University encouraged the students with special needs. He said that God gives special talent to such children. It is upon the parents to identify that talent. Laying emphasis on the responsibility of the society towards children with special needs, he said that the society should provide opportunities to such children so that they may become a part of the society. He also assured the parents that University would render all the help for all such events organized in future as well. 

            Dr Namita Gupta, Chairperson of the Centre stated that the purpose of the event was to motivate differently abled children to be part of the mainstream society and to sensitize the students of the university towards the needs of the differently-abled children.

            Around 200 students including differently abled children from various schools and NGOs such as Ashadeep, Discover Ability and GRIID participated in the event. Various games such as 4×50 metre relay, three leg race, sack race, 50 meter race, 100 metre race and spoon lemon race were played by differently abled children along with the student volunteers of the Centre for Human Rights. The names of children with Intellectual disabilities who won in various games were: Lakhvir, Omprakash, Bulbul and Jyoti in spoon and lemon race; Vickey and Akshay in 50 meters race; Bhawana, Anmol, Manpreet, Raman in 3 leg race; Abhishek Kohli, Tanveer, Tushar, Nitin, Jatin, Harman and Tejinder in Men relay race; Anshika, Ranju, Hemant, Ananya, Kalpana and Purva in Women relay race.

            Other guests that encouraged the students with their presence were Dr. Parminder Singh, Director Sports; Dr. Rakesh Malik, Deputy Director, Sports; Dr. Neeru Malik, PU Fellow and  Assistant Professor, Dev Samaj College, Sector 26, Chandigarh; Prof Rakesh Mohindra, Deptt of Laws; Dr Parveen Goyal, UIET; Ms. Sheetal Negi, Coach, Special Olympic (GRIID); Mr. Harmanjeet Gill, Coach, Special Olympic, (Discover Ability, Mohali) and Jagwinder Singh, well known Para Cyclist.

            Mr Vikram Nayyar, Finance and Development Officer and officiating Registrar, Panjab University, Prof. Emanual Nahar, Dean Student Welfare (DSW) and Prof Neena Kaplash, DSW (W) awarded the winners with medals and certificates.

            The event was a success with the participation of student volunteers from Centre for Human Rights and Duties, other departments of Panjab University, and volunteers of Dev Samaj College, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The event was sponsored by Marbella Grand, Kreative Chocolatier and Nutelite.                

जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद द्वारा बच्चों की चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता आयोजित करवाई गई

जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद द्वारा बच्चों की चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता आयोजित करवाई गई। इन प्रतियोगिताओं में 23 विद्यालयों के 450 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया।

जिला बाल कल्याण अधिकारी भगत सिंह ने बताया कि बाल कल्याण परिषद द्वारा 26 अगस्त से 3 सितंबर तक राष्ट्रीय चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता के तहत खंड स्तर पर इस तरह की प्रतियोगितायें करवाई गई थी और इन प्रतियोगिताओं में 72 विद्यालयों के 1200 बच्चों ने भाग लिया। उन्होंने बताया कि खंड और जिला स्तर पर प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान हासिल करने वाले बच्चों को बाल दिवस के अवसर पर सम्मानित किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बच्चों की प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान पर रही चित्रकलाओं को राष्ट्रीय बाल कल्याण परिषद में भेजा जायेगा और वहां पर राज्य स्तर पर उल्लेखनीय स्थान हासिल करने वाले बच्चों को देश के राष्ट्रपति द्वारा सम्मानित किया जायेगा।

खंड स्तर की इन प्रतियोगिताओं के परिणाम संबंधित स्कूलों को भेजे गये है। जिला स्तर पर ग्रीन ग्रुप 5 से 9 वर्ष में सेक्टर 15 की मुस्कान वर्मा ने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है। सेक्टर 14 लिटिल फ्लावर काॅनवैंट स्कूल की अरना शर्मा ने द्वितीय स्थान व सूरजपुर डीएवी स्कूल की सुप्रिया ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। वाईट ग्रुप 10 से 16 वर्ष में अमरावती विद्यालय पिंजौर के रमन ने प्रथम, इसी स्कूल की निष्ठा शर्मा ने द्वितीय व सूरजपुर डीएवी स्कूल की सालोकिया ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है।

स्पेशल ग्रुप येलो ग्रुप 5 से 10 वर्ष में सेक्टर 15 हालमार्क स्कूल के रेयाॅन जायॅसवाल ने प्रथम, लिटिल फ्लावर काॅनवैंट स्कूल सेक्टर 14 से ओजस ने द्वितीय व सेक्टर 11 सीएलडीएवी के वत्सल ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। रेड ग्रुप 11 से 18 वर्ष में कालका के भूपिंदर ने प्रथम, सेक्टर 11 सीएलडीएवी के मोहित वर्मा ने द्वितीय व रायपुररानी के रूद्र ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। रेड ग्रुप 11 से 18 में सेक्टर 20 माॅडल सांस्कृति स्कूल की सुमन ने प्रथम, सेक्टर 11 सीएलडीएवी के नमन गोयल ने द्वितीय व संस्कृति माॅडल स्कूल सेक्टर 20 के राजू सिंह ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है।
