SI reverted to ASI after urinating in public

Senior officers of Chandigarh Police have taken a very serious note on incident of video of a police official of Chandigarh Police urinating openly in public place at Park Sector 41D, Chandigarh. This act of the police official in question is a grave misconduct. On examining video and enquiring on the spot, the said police official has been identified and was found posted in Security Wing. The above act on the part of the said police official tantamount to grave misconduct being a member of the disciplined force. The following action has been taken against the said police official:-

• A Regular Departmental Enquiry has been ordered against him.
• He was on extension till 31.10.2019 and his extension period has been withdrawn forthwith.
• His ORP rank of Sub-Inspector has been withdrawn and he has been reverted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector.
• A Case FIR No 185 dated 28-06.2019 U/S 294 IPC has also been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against that police official on the complaint of a public person present at the spot.
