Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 04 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 04 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03 = 2 cases, PS-I.T Park = 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Three arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sham @ Sunder R/o # 344/A, EWS Colony, Village- Dhanas, Chandigarh from near T-Point, slip road, Spring Garden, Sector- 53, Chandigarh and recovered 36 injections of drugs from his possession on 15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 88, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Himmat Singh C/o Jitender Singh, Ward No. 1, near Sewa Kendre, Sadulgarh, Distt.- Mansa, Punjab from near sports complex, Sector- 50, Chandigarh and recovered 10 gram Heroin from his possession on 15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 38, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Manoj Kumar R/o # 606, Sector- 38/A, Chandigarh from Sector- 55/56 dividing road near beat box, Sector-56, Chandigarh andrecovered 07 gram heroin from his possession on 15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 100, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Karanjit Singh R/o # 339, Rajiv Colony, Sector- 17, Panchkula, Haryana from near Gurudwara, Village- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 48 bottles of country made liquor on 15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 73, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Ravi Kumar R/o # 1964, Sector- 7/B, Chandigarh alleged that a lady resident of Sector- 7/B, Chandigarh cheated complainant Rs. 15,00,000/- on the pretext of sending him abroad (USA). After receiving the money she stopped talking with complainant and also switch off his number on 30.12.2018. A case FIR No. 93, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Abhishek R/o # 1271, Sector- 66, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s M/Cycle No. HR-31H-1935 from Shastri Market, Sector- 22, Chandigarh on 15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 17, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- 17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Abhishek R/o # 506, Sector- 56, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s M/Cycle No. PB-65AD(T)-8922 while parked near his residence on night intervening 14/15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 99, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- 39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abduction

A person resident of Mauli Complex, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 16 years has been missing from near his residence since 12.04.2019. A case FIR No. 72, U/S 363, 366 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A person resident of village- Maloya, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 17 years has been missing from near his residence since 14.04.2019. A case FIR No. 51, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A person resident of Sector- 38 West, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 18 years has been missing from near his residence since 14.04.2019. A case FIR No. 52, U/S 363, 365 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Village- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person on motor cycle sped away after snatching complainant’s gold chain near Gate No. 3, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 15.04.2019. A case FIR No. 58, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 91, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Basanti Panth R/o # 3392, Sector- 46/C, Chandigarh against driver of motor cycle No. PB-11BE-0873 namely Gurwinder Singh R/o # 1326, Village- Burail, Chandigarh who hit to pedestrian complainant and her friend namely Godambari Sharma near Sector- 45/46 dividing road, Chandigarh on 14.04.2019. Complainant, her friend namely Godambari Sharma R/o # 3262, Sector- 46/C, Chandigarh and driver of motor cycle got injured and admitted in GMCH- 32, Chandigarh. Accused person namely Gurwinder Singh arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Explosive found

          A case FIR No. 127, U/S 4 Explosive Substance Act 1908 has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against unknown person who placed 3 bomb shells in the junkyard near mandi ground, Phase-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh on 13.04.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Escape from custody

A case FIR No. 70, U/S 223 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Sham Lal (Superintendent) Observation cum Special Home, Sector-25, Chandigarh against Gurpreet Singh (Security Guard) and Bhupender Singh (care taker) both R/o  Juvenile Justice Home, Sector- 25, Chandigarh. They were on duty while 02 juveniles ran away from Juvenile Justice Home, Sector- 25, Chandigarh on 15.04.2019. Later 01 juvenile was apprehended from Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
