Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 24 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 24 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 24 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03 = 6 cases, PS-17 = 2 cases, PS-19 = 2 cases, PS-26 = 5 cases, PS-MM = 2 cases, PS-Mauli Jagran = 2 cases, PS-I.T Park = 2 cases, PS-31 = 2 cases, PS-39 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Salim Ansari R/o # 3955, Sector-56, Chandigarh from near Dispensary, Sector-56, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 23 quarters of country made liquor on 06.04.2019. A case FIR No. 90, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Amarjit Singh R/o # 92/1, Village- Faidan, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Maruti Swift Car No. CH-01BA-9514 while parked near Plot No. 275, Phase-2, Indst. Area, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 114, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Burglary

Vinay Kumar R/o Office, SCO No. 68-69, Sector-8/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Complainant’s 02 Laptops and cash Rs. 65,000/- from his Office on night intervening 05/06.04.2019. A case FIR No. 111, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Lakhwinder Singh R/o # 95, Sector- 20/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Complainant’s DVR along with hard disc, 01 Hard disc, 03 mobile phone, 03 laptop chargers, 03 mobile chargers, all 07 CCTV Cameras, wifi adaptor and cash Rs. 15,000/- from his office, Plot No. 181/16, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh on night intervening 05/06.04.2019. A case FIR No. 97, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 113, U/S 323, 324, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Phase-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh who alleged that Vicky R/o # 1436, Phase-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh attacked complaint with knife at her residence on 05.04.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

        Saroj Kumar R/o # 680, Village- Kajheri, Chandigarh alleged that 02 unknown persons cheated with complainant cash Rs. 10,000/- and mobile phone outside Punjab National Bank, Sector-33, Chandigarh on 06.04.2019.  A case FIR No. 86, U/S 420, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
