Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 09 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 09 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 09 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17= 2 cases, PS-Sarangpur = 5 cases, PS-IT Park = 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sudesh Kumar R/o # 1450/20, Sec-29/B, Chandigarh near Cremation Ground, Village-Daria, Chandigarh and recovered 150 Capsules of drugs (Tramadol Hydrochloride Dicyclomine Hydrochloride Acetaminophen). A case FIR No. 84, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS- Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Trespassing

A case FIR No. 58, U/S 447, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Lokpal Singh R/o # 1178, Sector-15/B, Chandigarh who alleged that Gopal Singh R/o # 1178/1, Sector-15/B, Chandigarh trespassed in ground floor of house which is in possession of complainant and parked his car and also threatened him. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Ranbir Singh R/o # 614/1, Milk Colony Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away battery from his car No. PB-65(T)-1269 while parked near his house on the night intervening 21/22-03-2019. A case FIR No. 39, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 64, U/S 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pyara Singh Chauhan, General Manager, SBI, SCO No. 27-28, Sector-7C, Chandigarh against Mandeep Singh Chawla R/o # 412 Sec-37/A and Sanjay Sharma R/o # 512 Ph-8 Mohali (PB) in which it is alleged that  cash credit limit of Rs. 8,00,000/- and Term Loan of Rs. 2,00,000/- was sanctioned on request of Sh. Mandeep Singh Chawla S/o Sh. G. P. S. Chawla, R/o H. No. 412, Sector-37/A, Chandigarh for stock and furniture/fixtures and computer respectively on 11.07.2001 for running a shop in the name of M/s Manner Apparels, SCO-9, 1st Floor, Sector- 17 E, Chandigarh. During the course of inspection on 16th April 2002 the unit was found closed. As per terms conditions of the loan entered into between the bank and borrowers, the loan is required to be repaid in full in case the activity stands closed. They have not deposited any amount despite epeated requests. The borrowers has misappropriated bank funds and has committed a breach of contract and has cheated bank to the tune of Rs 10,55,223/- plus interest w.e.f. 01.04.2001. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          A case FIR No. 49, U/S 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Jarnail Singh R/o # 72 Vill-Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh against Sadhu Singh, Dharam Singh, Charan Singh, Raghubir Singh, Nachhattar Singh, Lachhman Singh, Bitu, Satinder Singh and two others who sold out village common land known as kulla (water bodies) at Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Inderjit Ram R/o Akhil Steel Plant, near Gori Shankar Mandir, Jagadhri, Distt-Yamuna Nagar (HR) reported that he is working as helper in Akhil Steel Plant and on 21.03.2019 he was going to meet his brother at Village Dariya, Chandigarh by foot, in the meantime when he reached near Vikas Nagar School 3-4 unknown boys came there and snatched away mobile phone and purse containing Rs. 200/- and documents. A case FIR No. 48, U/S 356, 379, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 73, U/S 279, 337 IPC & 185 MV Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rohit Kumar R/o # 190, Vill-Kajheri, Sec-52, Chandigarh, who alleged that driver of Auto No. PB65AH7910 namely Bharam Singh R/o # 550 Sec-52, Chandigarh driven his auto in rashly and negligently manner resultantly to which complainant’s aunty Uma Devi R/o # 866 Village-Burail, Chandigarh fell down from said auto near light point, Sector 33/45 Chandigarh on 21.03.2019. She got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Auto driver arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
