Research on fungal infection in Grapes granted

Dr Kashmir Singh, Associate Professor from Biotechnology Department, Panjab University Chandigarh has been granted a project on “Genome-wide Identification and Functional Analysis of Long Non-coding RNAs associated with biotic stress in Vitis vinifera  (Grapevine)” by SERB,  New Delhi. The total cost of project is around 50 lac which  will cover the cost of equipments, consumables and manpower. Dr Singh will work on 
identification of LncRNAs responsive to fungal infection in grapes.  These LncRNAs  will be used further for improvement of disease resistance in grapes.
